How to grow ginger

Selection and treatment of ginger

There are many kinds of ginger, such as Weifeng ginger, Shandong Changyi noodle ginger, Qingzhou bamboo root ginger, Shan Nong No.1 ginger, Qingzhou turmeric and so on. When selecting ginger varieties, we should choose suitable varieties resistant to pests and diseases according to the local actual situation. The selected ginger should be a piece of ginger with hard and plump texture, golden and tender color, bright skin and no pests and diseases.

Ginger seeds should be treated after selection. First, when the temperature is around 10℃ in the daytime, take out the ginger slices and lay them flat on the ground to dry. If there is dirt on the ginger slices, it needs to be cleaned with clear water, and it usually takes about two days to dry. It needs to be brought indoors at night to avoid frostbite of ginger pieces due to low temperature.

By drying the seeds, the temperature of ginger seeds can be increased, dormancy can be broken and germination can be promoted. After drying, put them together indoors and cover them with straw mats to improve the decomposition speed of nutrients. The time is about three days, which is very conducive to germination. Generally speaking, the next germination can be carried out after drying and stacking for about two times.

Ginger seeds should be soaked before accelerating germination. The main purpose of soaking seeds is to eliminate pests and diseases on the surface of ginger seeds, and secondly to increase the water absorption of ginger seeds. Generally, the soaking solution is mostly Bordeaux solution or plant ash. When soaking seeds, pile ginger together and cover it with straw, which takes about three days.

After soaking seeds, germination can be accelerated. There are many methods to accelerate germination, such as fire prevention and greenhouse germination. Stack ginger seeds indoors to accelerate germination. When accelerating germination, the indoor temperature is about 25℃ and the humidity is about 75%. Keep this state until the ginger seeds grow to about 0.6~ 1.2cm.

Ginger seeds that have sprouted can't go into the ground and need to be broken. When ginger seeds are crushed, ginger seeds with black buds or brown ginger segments are removed. Generally, ginger pieces are broken into small seed pieces of about 75~ 100g, and it should be noted that a fat bud must be left on each seed piece.

Selection and fertilization of Erjiang field

The root system of ginger itself is not very developed, and the whole root system is on the surface of soil, so the absorption ratio of water and fertilizer is poor. Therefore, it is best to choose plants with loose and fertile soil, and it is best to be rich in a variety of organic matter. Generally speaking, base fertilizer should be added to the soil, and decomposed pig manure and potassium sulfate compound fertilizer are generally selected. Before sowing, the soil should be turned over for about a month, and before soil preparation, fertilization should be applied to the surface layer of the soil.

Sow three ginger seeds.

Ginger should be sown in sunny and warm weather. The steps are as follows: first, ditch the fully ploughed land, and the height of the ditch should be more than 20 cm. Then, dig the deep border about 10cm, and sow in the deep border. Secondly, in order to ensure the smooth excavation of ginger seeds, it is necessary to pour the bottom water. If it is not poured thoroughly, it will easily lead to long digging time of ginger buds and slow emergence, resulting in low yield.

In water management at seedling stage, the principle of less irrigation and more irrigation should be adhered to, so as to keep the soil water content at about 65~70%. In addition, after the bottom water is completely infiltrated, ginger seeds can be discharged at intervals of about 20 cm. The flat sowing method can be used, that is, the ginger pieces should be kept horizontal when sowing, and gently pressed into the mud, paying attention to ensuring that the ginger buds are roughly the same height as the ditch surface. In the process of putting ginger seeds, about 20 grams of compound fertilizer can be put between every two pieces. Of course, it should be noted that the fertilizer should not be too close to the ginger seeds, nor can it be directly applied. After sowing, cover the soil in time with a thickness of about 4.5cm, and then make the soil surface smooth, which can effectively reduce the damage of sunlight to ginger seeds.

Further management of four kinds of Jiang Miao.

Shade in time. Ginger is a shade-loving plant that is not resistant to high temperature and strong light. It should be shaded in summer to promote growth. There are many ways to shade, such as building a greenhouse or intercropping with tall crops, such as corn and sticky corn.

Scientific fertilizer and water management, ginger does not need topdressing in germination stage. Potassium fertilizer and compound fertilizer can be added when the seedling height reaches about 30cm and the new branches reach 1~2. In order to achieve high yield of ginger, water management must be done well. Generally speaking, ginger doesn't need to be watered before it emerges. It should be watered after 70% of it is unearthed in the Jiangmiao Temple. It is necessary to keep the field moist before harvest, and the humidity should be kept at about 70%. It is best that the soil doesn't turn white.
