This is a natural green reservoir. 39 rivers originating from Maoershan, with an average annual runoff of 31.400 million tons, are the source of Lijiang River, the mother river of Guilin, and the birthplace of Zijiang River and Jiang Xun, connecting the Yangtze River and the Pearl River. Maoershan-the water source is a miracle of nature and the son of Guilin's landscape. Nature has ingeniously trimmed the vast virgin undergrowth of Maoershan, just like a green Wang Yang. Relict plant, the southern hemlock group that stands proudly, is simple, vigorous and elegant, and is the "treasure of the town house" in Maoershan. Clouds often appear on the top of the mountain, and the Buddha mask at four o'clock is necessary to appreciate the unparalleled magic of nature.

To reach the top of Maoer Mountain, it is suggested to take the scenic bus directly up the mountain, about 1 hour by car, and stop at several important scenic spots such as Laoshan boundary and Hemlock Park on the way. After getting off the bus, you need to walk a climb path to reach the top. Sunset, sunrise and sea of clouds are all beautiful here. However, the weather on the mountain is changeable, so it is better to go on sunny days, otherwise the scenery will be greatly reduced. There is a hotel on the top of the mountain. Some tourists will stay here for one night and enjoy the sunrise the next morning.

As the highest peak in South China, it is also very popular with hikers. The main hiking route is from the mountain gate to the Grand Canyon, then back to the Du Fu Garden, passing by Laojie Mountain, to Hemlock Park, and climbing to the top of the mountain through alpine bushes. A one-way trip takes about ten hours. If you don't have rich experience in outdoor sports, it is not recommended to rush on foot.
