It's too hot, Tesla

[car home? News] A few days ago, we learned that due to the extreme high temperature weather in California, Tesla has sent a notice to some car owners, requesting to minimize car charging to save energy and ease the pressure on the power grid.

According to the push news, the current heat wave is affecting California's power grid. If possible, we ask you to reduce the super charging and home charging of vehicles between 4 pm and 9 pm to support the management needs of the whole state. For reference, the peak power of Tesla's V3 super charging pile can reach 250kW. If multiple car owners use it at the same time, it will bring more pressure to the California power grid, which is already running at full capacity.

By reducing the behavior of charging during peak hours, Tesla owners can reduce the pressure on California's energy grid, so that the management department can allocate extra electricity that people may use for home air conditioning during the high temperature in summer more reasonably.

Editor's comment:

With the increasing number of new energy vehicles, similar problems are likely to appear in China. Previously, there were related measures, and new energy owners could try to charge their cars during the off-peak, which on the one hand could reduce the pressure of power grid load during the off-peak, and at the same time could avoid the waste of excess power during the off-peak.
