In addition, the highest temperature in Yicheng County of Gyeongsangbuk-do and Ningyue County of gangwon reached 39.9 degrees Celsius on July 27th.
Previously, the temperature in South Korea reached 40 degrees Celsius only once, in August 1942, when the temperature in Daegu reached 40.0 degrees Celsius.
Rare high temperatures have also led to a sharp increase in summer heat diseases. According to the latest statistics of Korea Disease Management Headquarters, 29 people in Korea died of fever from May 20th to July 30th in 3/kloc-0 due to the continuous high temperature weather. According to the data released by Korea National Health Insurance Corporation, with the continuous high temperature weather, the number of heatstroke patients will increase significantly this year, and more than 20,000 patients will come to the hospital due to the extreme heat.
