Wuhan Baiquan Ancient Town Travel Guide
Wuhan Baiquan Ancient Town is located in Dongxihu District, not too far from the city, and is very suitable for citizens to travel by car. There are many ancient historical relics and cultural traditions here. The environment of the entire ancient town is very elegant and peaceful, suitable for vacation. This is the tour guide of Baiquan Ancient Town.
Wuhan Baiquan Ancient Town Travel Guide
Compared with other Jiangnan ancient towns, Wuhan Baiquan Ancient Town is extremely low-key and not many people know about it. What's special about it is that unlike those ancient towns with a strong commercial atmosphere, there is no admission fee here.
The most interesting thing is that many Wuhan locals will mispronounce its name. Many of my friends in Hankou are accustomed to calling this place Bo(bm:i) spring. In fact, in the official description, this is Bo(b)Spring, which is similar to the pronunciation of Berlin.
Baiquan Ancient Town is located in the northwest of Wuhan, not far from the center of Hankou, only 17 kilometers. It is very convenient for residents of Hankou to drive there. They can reach it within three hours and the traffic is smooth.
Starting from Hankou, drive along Jinshan Avenue to Huanhu Road, then turn to Baiyin Road, and you can go directly to Baiquan. You don’t need to prepare much. A car, a few people, and a heart to feel the ancient charm are enough. The overall cost is not much, but after a day of walking, you can also appreciate the local culture and customs.
However, the ancient town has a subtropical climate with abundant rainfall. Before the season of changeable weather arrives, you must be prepared to take shelter from the rain. There are Xia and Shang ruins in Baiquan Ancient Town, and there are as many as 30 historical sites recorded in the data.
Baiquan Ancient Well, Yaodun, Yujiazui, etc. It has been listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Wuhan City and is currently an attractive attraction in Baiquan Ancient Town. Among them, Maomiaoji and Baiquan Ancient Wells can best explain the problem.
Introduction to Maomiaoji in Baiquan Ancient Town
Maomiaoji in Baiquan Ancient Town is a market that was formed in the Yin and Shang Dynasties and has a history of more than 3,000 years. According to legend, an eminent monk visited this place in ancient times, which coincided with a natural disaster that occurred once in a thousand years. He was compassionate and prayed for the people day and night.
Then, to commemorate this incident, the villagers built a temple for him, called the "Mao Temple", made of thatch. Later, the temple's incense flourished, and people gathered together, gradually forming a market, which became the "Mao Temple Market".
In the early Qing Dynasty, with the rise of commerce, Maomiaoji became the most famous market at that time. After entering the new era, in 2010, Maomiaoji was completely renovated, as if it had recreated its grand occasion in a trance, becoming an antique and characteristic cultural street.
Every store in Cultural Street has its own couplet, and each pair has its own profound meaning. There are both ancient teahouses where "character shines and tea is like jade dew and nectar", as well as modern photo studios where "the charm is always youthful and the color and shadow are always beautiful".
The couplets on both sides of the archway entering and exiting Maomiaoji are even more heroic: Baiquan has strong ancient charm and strong character, and Maomiaoji has a new look of hundreds of miles of rivers and mountains. Just 22 words seem to contain a condensed millennium of history. Today's ancient town is low-key and secretive. Although admission is free, there are very few tourists coming and going. Businessmen are full of worries about this situation, but I think it is very elegant for such a historical town to maintain its purity.
Baiquan Ancient Well is even more of a strange well, which can be regarded as the local "longevity well". Baiquan Ancient Well is located outside Baiquan Jingde Temple. There is a century-old Bodhi tree at the front of the temple. The tree is covered with red ribbons for blessings, expressing the good expectations of pilgrims from all over the world. There is a land temple under the Bodhi tree, which is full of incense. This ancient well is located just on the Moon Pond on the right side of the Earth Temple. Even the location of the ancient well seems to have been blessed. No wonder so many miracles have been recorded in it since ancient times.
According to legend, this ancient well never dries up. No matter how the climate changes, it doesn't even change its water level. Moreover, the well water in the ancient well is pure natural mineral water, rich in trace elements. No wonder this area has been famous for longevity since ancient times
Looking at the sand gulls from a distance, the scenery is beautiful, and the most famous is Swan Lake bird watching, especially before the flood season. When you arrive at the site, you can see large grassy beaches and scattered pools looming, like a landscape masterpiece.
With the development of the times, in recent years, Baiquan Ancient Town has been favored by many investors for its rich Chu charm. This low-key ancient town has finally begun to appear in people's vision.
Even if the busy rhythm of the city is the main theme of life, perhaps Baiquan Ancient Town can still retain a beautiful place for people who shuttle through the neon lights, so that everyone can have a place when they want to return to pure life. Great place to go.
