How can we keep warm and cold?

Some tropical and subtropical flowers prefer warmth to coldness. When the temperature drops to 0℃, they will suffer from freezing injury. Therefore, if you want to raise these flowers well, you must do a good job of cold protection and heat preservation in winter, so that they can spend the winter safely. Do it yourself, you can make simple equipment such as heat preservation and cold protection shed.

(1) Simple incubator. Self-made simple incubator, put a few pots of flowers, which can not only keep warm and moisturize, but also take up no space. The manufacturing method is as follows: firstly, make a box basket with a height of 160cm, a width of 80cm and a thickness of 50cm with hardwood strips or angle irons, then weave two netted trays with thick iron wires and put them in the basket, put flower pots on the trays respectively, put a small basin at the bottom of the box and install two incandescent bulbs of 40-60w, and finally cover the box with plastic film, which will not be used indoors. The incubator can not only keep moisture, but also increase temperature and light, which is very beneficial to the safe overwintering and sustainable growth of flowers that like high temperature and high humidity.

(2) Plastic shed. Set up a bamboo bow shed at Nanyang Terrace. The requirement of the shed is low in the front and high in the back. The top and periphery are covered with double plastic films, and the bottom is pressed with bricks. When it is cold, cover it with a straw curtain or an old blanket at night to keep warm. After winter, low-temperature tolerant flowers and trees such as Chinese rose, pomegranate, oleander, peony, osmanthus, kumquat and conifer can be put into the shed for the winter.

(3) The indoor greenhouse in front of the window. Make a rectangular wooden (iron) basket about 140 cm long, 30 cm wide and 70 cm high, and wrap it tightly with plastic film. Install the greenhouse basket on the window facing south, and the base is flush with the top of the heater. After putting in the flowerpot, clamp the door curtain with a clothes peg. And pay attention to the following points: ① Water for watering flowers needs water close to room temperature, and cold water cannot be used. (2) Wash the dust outside the plastic film with clear water frequently to facilitate the lighting of flowers. (3) often sprinkle water on the ground to increase air humidity. (4) Water should be dry and wet, and it is advisable to dry it slightly.
