How many levels are there of wind?
Based on the strength of the wind, the wind is divided into 13 levels. The names corresponding to each level of wind strength are as follows:
Level 0 wind is called calm wind, and level 1 wind is called calm wind. Winds of level 2 are called light winds, winds of level 3 are called breezes, winds of level 4 are called gentle winds, winds of level 5 are called quiet and strong winds, winds of level 6 are called strong winds, winds of level 7 are called strong winds, and winds of level 8 are called strong winds. Winds of level 9 are called gales, winds of level 10 are called squalls, winds of level 11 are called storms, and winds of level 12 are called hurricanes.
Twelve wind level jingles: level 0 smoke plumes rising straight into the sky, level 1 green smoke drifting with the wind, level 2 light breeze blowing the face, level 3 leaves moving and red flags flying, level 4 branches shaking and flying paper, Level 5 leaves small trees shaking, level 6 it is difficult to walk with an umbrella, level 7 it is inconvenient to walk in the wind, level 8 wind breaks branches, level 9 roof tiles fly, level 10 uproots trees and houses, levels 11 and 12 are rare on land. .
Wind speed is the forward speed of the wind. The greater the air pressure difference between two adjacent places, the faster the air flows, the greater the wind speed, and the greater the power of the wind. Therefore, wind force is usually used to express the size of the wind. The unit of wind speed is expressed in meters per second or kilometers per hour. When issuing weather forecasts, wind levels are mostly used.
Common wind level measuring instruments
1. Lightweight anemometer
A device commonly used to measure wind force in the wild, consisting of a sensing part and a counter. Portable anemometers are generally placed in open areas without tall obstacles, and the meter body is vertical. Turn off the switch before observing and record the indication of the pointer.
2. Wind speed and direction meter
Some lightweight wind meters, in addition to having the structural performance of the anemometer mentioned above, are also equipped with a wind vane on the shaft to indicate the wind direction. It's called a wind speed anemometer.
3. Wind speed and wind level alarm device
A wind speed and wind speed alarm device is mainly composed of a microcontroller, a digital display, an alarm and a wind speed sensor. It can monitor wind speeds from 1 to 12 levels. Measure and quickly display the wind speed value and wind speed level at that time. It can automatically alarm when the wind speed is above level 6, and automatically cut off the power supply of the controlled equipment when the wind speed is above level 8.
