This year's typhoon

This year'sNo. 1 typhoon "Cancan" landed in the coastal area from Raoping to Chenghai, Guangdong at 2 am on May 18. The typhoon appeared more than one month earlier than the average initial stage for many years, which is rare in history.

Tropical Storm No.2 "Jerahua" (June 2006)

The second tropical depression "Jielahua" landed in Potou District, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province at 7: 40 am on June 29th. When landing, the maximum wind force near the center is level 7 (15m/s).

Typhoon No.3 "Ayunni" (July 2006);

Typhoon Ayouni landed near Jindo, Jeollanam-do, South Korea, and moved northeast with wind and rain. Affected by "Ai Yunni", huge waves have been set off along the coast of Qingdao, Shandong Province, and some scenic spots in Qingdao have been forced to close.

Typhoon No.4 "Bilis" (July 2006)

The fourth strong tropical storm "Bilis" this year killed more than 800 people, the largest number of deaths in the past decade.

Typhoon No.5 "Meg" (July 2006)

This year's No.5 typhoon "Meg" caused 7.95 million people in five provinces including Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan and Guangdong to be affected to varying degrees, with 28 people killed and 36 missing.

Typhoon No.6 "prapiroon" (August 2006)

Named after Thailand, it means rain god.
