Ruyuan County is 16.25 km long, with an average slope of 1.23‰ and a rainwater collection area of 749 square kilometers, accounting for 10.5% of the total basin area. The average river flow 1.54 cubic meters per second, annual runoff of 5.23 billion cubic meters, natural drop of 20 meters, available drop of 7 meters, county-level hydropower reserves 1.54 million kilowatts, and recoverable amount1.20 million kilowatts.

Wujiang District, Shaoguan City (formerly Qujiang County and qujiang district) Wujiang River is located in the north of the county seat, commonly known as Xihe River, which was once called Huxi and Wuxi in history. Enter from Guitou, Ruyuan County, pass through Chongyang Town and enter Zhenjiang District. The river section in China is about 20 kilometers long. In Zhenjiang District of Shaoguan City (formerly under the jurisdiction of Qujiang County and qujiang district), Wujiang River is also known as Wushui and Xihe River, and was called Wuxi, Sishui, Sanshui, Lake and Lechang Water in ancient times. Enter Lishi Town, Zhenjiang District via Wujiang District (formerly under the jurisdiction of qujiang district), pass Shiliting, Wu Liting and downtown, and then pass through Zhenjiang. Wujiang River is a mountainous river. The main stream of Guangdong is more than 50 kilometers from Shi Ping to Lechang Gorge. There are many mountains, canyons and beaches on both sides of the strait, and the famous 18 beaches in Jiulong are here, which is also a section of Beijiang River with good conditions for hydropower resources development.

Wujiang River bed is composed of rocks and pebbles. The upper reaches (Shiping to Linwu) are purple sand shale hilly areas, and the riverbed bends greatly with obvious slope. The middle reaches (Shiping to Lechang City) belong to mountainous rivers, with high mountains on both sides, narrow riverbed and steep slope, rapid water flow and abundant hydraulic resources. The Lechang Gorge section between Luojiadu and the urban area is also called "Nine Long Eighteen Beaches". With the development of Wujiang River, many dams have been built along the river to build hydropower stations. The sediment in Wujiang river bed increases year by year, and the width of the river bed narrows.
