Celebrities in Ancient and Modern Times and Yunyang Mountain Amin traveler Xu Xiake visited Yunyang Mountain (5)

On the tenth day of the first month of the tenth year of Chongzhen (1637), Xu Xiake, a great traveler in the Ming Dynasty, traveled from Qiaotou, Yongxin, Jiangxi (now Sanbanqiao Village, Lianhua County) along the southwest village road and entered Chaling via Jietouling for an eight-day tour.

During these eight days, Xu Xiake visited places of interest such as Huang Yixian, Shen Yun, Lingyan Mountain, Yunyang Mountain, Qinren Cave, Shangqing Cave and Maye Cave. And recorded what he saw and heard during his visit in You Jiang Diary and Chuyou Diary, which was included in Chuyou Diary.

According to Xu Xiake's account, his eight-day trip is like this:

On the 10th day of the first month, Xu Xiake temporarily changed his plan and made a detour to visit Xiandao Temple in Huang Lu (in the town).

1 1 day, Xu Xiake changed his travel plan here. When the boat entered today's Shicun section of Huotian Town, he left the boat and braved the wind and rain to explore Shen Yun Temple on foot. Shen Yun Temple, now called Luoyang Mountain in An Zi. The tiger was in trouble here at that time. When he learned that he was going to Shen Yun Temple in Shen Yun, the enthusiastic drummer volunteered to cheer him up. They formed a group of four people, holding torches, and escorted Xu Xiake all the way to Shen Yun Temple in the rain.

/kloc-on 0/2, the north wind roared, drizzled and the weather was cold. Xu Xiake disembarked from the south gate of Chaling House by boat at the mouth of Dongjiang River (i.e. Tea) and entered Chaling House. He originally planned to start from the west gate and visit Wei Zi and Yunyang Mountain to the west. On the way, he heard that there is a Chaling scenic spot-Lingyan fifteen miles south of could. So, I temporarily changed my plan for the third time, went back to the city to have breakfast, and then went down by boat from the south gate (not a mistake of "going upstream") to visit Lingyan.

There are eight landscapes in Lingyan, including Guanyin phenomenon, Duishiyan, Biquan Rock, Fuhuyan, Liang Shi Rock, Huixianzhai and Xuetang Rock. Xu Xiake called these eight scenes "Eight Scenes of Lingyan". He said that among the eight scenic spots in Lingyan, the landscape around Liang Shi Rock is "the first of the eight scenic spots".

From 13 to 17, Xu Xiake visited Yunyang Mountain, Qinren Cave, Luositan Cave, Shangqing Cave and Maye Cave in the west of Yunyang Mountain, covering Yunyang Mountain, Xiadongjie Road, Dongling Village in Zaoshi Town and Shui Yuan Village in Huju Town. The specific itinerary and tour are as follows:

13, the weather remains the same. Xu Xiake returned to Chaling House by boat from Lingyan, and resumed his tour of Yunyang Mountain on 12. On this day, Xu Xiake boarded Zhengyang Peak.

In Guanyin Temple, Xu Xiake asked Yan Song, an old monk in the temple, the way to climb Yunyang Mountain. Xu Xiake narrated that at first, because of dialect, he mistook the "red pine" in Yan Song's narrative for a "cave", but when he went down from Yunyang County to the red pine altar at the southern foot, he discovered that the "cave altar" he had previously understood was wrong.

/kloc-On 0/4, Xu Xiake, trapped by rain and snow, was forced to cancel the plan to climb the peak of Weizifeng, the main peak of Yunyang Mountain. He went north from Chisongtan and curled up in Hongshan Temple to keep warm and got wet.

15, the weather still hasn't improved. Xu Xiake and Gu's servant braved the snow to climb the peak. Then, choose from the west slope. On the western slope, "the snow and ice are congested, the thorns are intertwined, and the steps are getting harder and harder." After two miles, there is no way out. Xu Xiake described that at that time, "the four levels were frozen and could not move up and down." Shen Yun's trip may have left a deep impression on me. Xu Xiake's servant saw the hidden thatched stone and suspected it was a tiger. Climb straight to the top of the mountain without a straight road in a panic. In this way, Xu Xiake's master and servant climbed down from the cliff with the help of vines, and sometimes even fell straight from the rock. In this regard, Xu Xiake said humorously that he "if Wargo falls flat under the cliff and rolls off the cliff, he will have everything, but he can't wrap the felt with his bare hands." So I walked five miles and finally came to a place called Yaoli at the foot of the mountain. This is the western foot of Yunyang Mountain, which is now in Dongling, Zaoshi Town.

/kloc-On the morning of 0/6, Xu Xiake invited a local named Duan as a guide in Dongling, boarded Dongling, and went to Qinren Cave several miles west, and visited the East Cave and the West Cave of Qinren Cave successively. At lunch, people familiar with the road conditions said that what you saw in the morning was only the east entrance hole, not the west exit hole! Xu Xiake thought this mistake was lucky, which enabled him to visit two caves. In the afternoon, Xu Xiake climbed mountains and mountains again, and happily visited the West Cave of Qinren Cave.

/kloc-After breakfast on 0/7, Xu Xiake went north from Xin 'an, crossed Longtouling under the guidance of local people, and found Luosi Beach and Shangqing Beach north of Luosi Beach.

After visiting the East Cave, Xu Xiake walked three miles along the foot of Xishan Mountain and the water flowing out of the East Cave, and came to Maye Cave in Mayewan, which is the west cave of the third hole of Qinren Cave. The local people pointed to Maye Cave and said to Xu Xiake, "There are monsters in it. Unless you have magic, you can't take them away." At first, everyone mistakenly thought that Xu Xiake was a "master" and was willing to be his guide. When Xu Xiake reported that he was a "Confucian", the guide was surprised and refused to enter the cave. Xu Xiake fearlessly ventured into the cave with his servants; The winding path in the cave is secluded and the scenery is extraordinary. Unfortunately, there were not enough torches, so Xu Xiake couldn't travel all over the cave, so he had to climb out of the cave in a hurry before the torches burned out.
