How to raise Milan in winter?

Milan is a southern plant, and it likes to be warm and avoid cold, so it is necessary to do a good job of cold protection and warmth in winter. From mid-June, 5438+10 to the end of April of the following year, it can only overwinter indoors above 5℃. In order to make Milan safe for the winter, the following work must be done:

room temperature

The optimum temperature in Milan in winter is 1 1℃- 12℃. If the room temperature is too high, new leaf buds will easily grow at the top of the branches, which will not only consume nutrients, but also dry up when the new buds move out in spring, affecting the flowering in the coming year. After the potted Milan is moved indoors, it should be placed in a sunny place, such as a window sill or a table, not in a dark corner. At night, the lowest indoor temperature is not lower than 2℃-3℃, which can safely overwinter. Below 2℃, the leaves will wither, the indoor temperature will drop below zero, and it will freeze. When the outdoor temperature is lower than 5℃, the flowerpot should be moved out of the window at night to prevent cold air on the glass and air leakage from the window seam from attacking Milan. Put it back when there is sunshine during the day. When opening the window at ordinary times, be careful not to let the northwest wind blow directly into Milan. When the indoor temperature is below zero and there is thin ice, measures should be taken to keep warm. You can cover the flowerpot with a plastic film bag and tie it tightly, and put it under the bed or in a warmer place under the table. The indoor temperature rose the next day, so I moved back to my original place and unpacked the plastic bag for ventilation. Note that if you cover the bag for a long time, the temperature in the bag will rise and it will be airtight, so Milan will not freeze to death and will be suffocated.

When it is particularly cold indoors, especially at night, there is another way to keep warm. You can move the flowerpot under the table and cover the top of the plant with a cloth or a newspaper to keep out the cold. When the indoor temperature rises when the sun comes out during the day, it should be opened in time and put back in place to receive the sunshine.

Sometimes pile some on the topsoil around the basin or outside! The east and west are like cotton wool, which can play the role of "protecting roots", but mainly to prevent leaves and branches from being frozen.

dust

Too much dust or smoke on the leaves will affect photosynthesis and easily cause yellowing and defoliation. Therefore, if you use a coal stove for heating indoors, you should put potted plants away from the stove and often wash the floating dust on the leaves with warm water. If a large number of leaves fall off, you can dump the plants in the pot, remove the soil from the outer layer of the soil snake, cut off the rotten roots and some branches, then put them in the pot again, pour water on them, cover them with plastic bags, and put them in a sunny place indoors, and new branches and leaves will soon grow.

Fecal fluid

Milan basin soil should be dried in winter, and don't water it too much. Too much watering will cause defoliation, root rot and even suffocation. When the soil in the basin is white, the fingers feel "hard" and need to be watered, so master the principle of not watering. The water to be watered can be cold water or warm water. You can use indoor pre-stored water when you try it by hand. If heating equipment such as stove is installed indoors, the environment is easy to dry, so you can sprinkle some water on the leaves at ordinary times to increase the humidity of the environment.

Don't apply fertilizer during freezing and keeping warm indoors. In order to prevent new buds from sprouting and grow new leaves.

ventilate

Indoor ventilation is poor in winter. Always open the doors and windows for ventilation. Keep the indoor temperature during ventilation, so that the cold air does not directly hit Milan.
