What should I prepare for going to Hailuogou in mid-January?

I just came back from a trip after New Year’s Day, and now the temperature in the ditch is below freezing. After passing Camp No. 1 and walking up the mountain not far away, there is a vast white snow scene. I don’t feel too cold there. Maybe it’s because the high altitude of Gongga Mountain provides more sunshine. It is enough to bring a down jacket and a sweater. If you are afraid of the cold, bring woolen pants. It is also best to bring sunglasses, a hat, gloves, etc. A small cold is not a big problem.

When traveling with a group, we usually arrive at Moxi Town in the afternoon on the first day and stay in the town at night. On the second day, we take the scenic bus up the mountain and take the cable car directly to the foot of the glacier. The glacier looks a bit dirty and gray. It feels gray, but it is still very spectacular. If you are lucky, you can also see the main peak of Gongga Mountain and Rizhao Jinshan Mountain. After lunch, go down to the hot spring hotel in Camp 2 to soak in the hot spring, and then go down the mountain and return to Moxi Town; the third day It’s the return trip.

If you go by yourself, I strongly recommend staying at the hot spring hotel in Camp No. 2. Although it is a bit expensive, the scenery is absolutely superb. There is thick snow next to the hot spring pool, and you can also see the spring of the hot spring. The entire hotel area It's all steaming hot. When you wake up in the morning, you can see the golden scenery of the sun shining on the mountains. The hotel also has rooms with direct hot spring pools to choose from, but it seems that there are only six rooms per hotel, so you need to book in advance.

The hotel in Camp No. 1 is Gongga Shentang, but the location of the hotel is not very good. There are some villages next to it in the valley. The hot springs are not as good as those in Camp No. 2 and there are no snow views (if Moxi Town When it snows, you can enjoy the snow scenery). There are Jinshan and Yinshan hotels in Camp 3, which is closest to the main peak of Gongga Mountain. Travelers who like photography can choose there. It seems to be some kind of national glacier photography base. It has the most snowy scenery and the highest altitude, but There is no hot spring.

The trip to Hailuogou is very easy compared to the trip to Jiuzhaigou Huanglong. There is basically no plateau reaction (it varies from person to person). The food in the tour group is also much better, at least every meal is included. There are a lot of green vegetables, not as bad as those in Jiuzhaigou.
