I am going to Jiaxing Educational Internship from October to November. I would like to ask about the general situation there.

1.October is basically the most comfortable month in the whole year. The temperature is roughly between 15-25 degrees, neither cold nor hot. However, there will be a temperature difference between morning and evening. In terms of clothing, you can wear jeans at the bottom, a shirt at the top, and a jacket, so you will definitely not get cold. Of course, you can also bring a wool vest or something for mobile use.

2. In terms of public security, overall it is pretty good. Major crimes such as armed robbery and extortion are rarely heard of, but we should not take it lightly. Petty thefts are still common. Especially when taking the bus, you should pay special attention to protecting your belongings.

3. In terms of transportation, Jiaxing is a plain area with relatively good urban-rural integrated development and fairly developed transportation. The Nanhu High School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University is located in Nanhu New District. The school building is relatively new. It is surrounded by mid-to-high-end residential areas. It has a dedicated bus stop and is very convenient to reach the city center.

4. Compared with Shanghai and Hangzhou, prices in Jiaxing are relatively cheap, but there seems to be no affordable snack bar near the school. It would be more cost-effective if the school has a canteen. You can go to large supermarkets to buy daily necessities. There are free supermarket shuttle stops in nearby residential areas.

5. There are still many fun places in the city. There is a tourist bus line that connects all the scenic spots in the city. You can take a closer look at each one. There are Nanhu Lake, Southwest Lake, Fanli Lake Park, Meiwan Street, Yuehe Scenic Area, etc. The internship is quite busy, so you can ignore the tourist attractions in the suburbs for now. In addition, the greening in Jiaxing is very good. The whole city is like a big park, and you can easily find a place to take a walk and exercise.
