Bayi District is a county under the jurisdiction of Linzhi District in Tibet.
Located in the southeast of Tibet, north bank of Yarlung Zangbo River, downstream of Nianqu. Linzhi, which means "the throne of mother's family or the throne of the sun" in Tibetan, is the lowest altitude area on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and is known as "the south of Tibet".
The area of Bayi District is 10238 square kilometers, with 38,000 mu of cultivated land, 565,000 mu of grassland and 5.02 million mu of forest.
