Introduction to Taochuan Town

Taochuan Town belongs to Jiangyong County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, and was named Taoxi in ancient times. Taochuan Cave (Basin) is surrounded by mountains to the west. The basin between the mountains is like a peach shape, and a river runs through it. The climate along both sides of the river is mild, the terrain is flat, the peach trees are red and the willows are green, and the four seasons are like spring, hence the name. Before liberation, it was Taochuan Township, Yongming County. After liberation, Taochuan Town was established in 1950. In 1952, the town was removed and renamed Taochuan District, with jurisdiction over 11 townships.
