That's leucorrhea. Leucorrhea is a female vaginal secretion, which is composed of vaginal mucosa exudate, cervical canal exudate and endometrial gland exudate, and its formation is related to estrogen. Under normal circumstances, the quality and quantity of leucorrhea change with the menstrual cycle. After menstruation is clean, leucorrhea is less, white and mushy. When the ovary is about to ovulate in the middle period of menstruation, due to the exuberant secretion of cervical glands, leucorrhea increases, which is transparent, slightly sticky and egg-white. 2 ~ 3 days after ovulation, leucorrhea becomes cloudy and sticky, but the amount is small. Before and after menstruation, due to pelvic congestion, vaginal mucosal exudates increase and leucorrhea often increases.

classify

1. Physiological leucorrhea

Normal leucorrhea is white paste or egg white-like, thick, tasteless and fine, which is called physiological leucorrhea. Due to the action of pelvic floor muscles, the female vaginal opening is closed and the front and rear walls are close together. The moisture in leucorrhea makes women's vagina moist, which can reduce the friction between the front and rear walls of vagina and protect the vaginal wall from damage. At the same time, this moist state makes women's vagina smooth and elastic, which is conducive to improving the quality of sexual life.

2. Pathological leucorrhea

When genital tract inflammation, such as vaginitis, acute cervicitis, or canceration occurs, the amount of leucorrhea increases obviously and its nature changes, which is called pathological leucorrhea.

Abnormal performance

1. Cheese-like leucorrhea or bean curd residue-like leucorrhea: fungal vaginitis, often accompanied by severe vulvar itching or burning pain.

2. Leucorrhea is thin and purulent, yellow-green, foamy and smelly, characterized by trichomonal vaginitis, accompanied by vulvar itching.

3. Grayish white, thin, fishy, leucorrhea, manifested as bacterial vaginosis, accompanied by mild itching of vulva.

4. Purulent leucorrhea: yellow or yellowish green, sticky and smelly, which is caused by bacterial infection. Can be seen in gonorrhea, Neisseria vaginitis, acute cervicitis, cervicitis, vaginal cancer or cervical cancer complicated with infection. Purulent leucorrhea can also be caused by pus in uterine cavity or foreign body residue in vagina.

6. watery leucorrhea: thin as water or rice, with foul-smelling leucorrhea, which is found in advanced cervical cancer, vaginal cancer or submucosal myoma with infection. Intermittent discharge of clear, yellow-red or red watery leucorrhea should consider the possibility of tubal cancer.

7. bloody leucorrhea: leucorrhea mixed with blood, with different blood volume. Cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, cervical polyp, ectopic infection of cervical columnar epithelium or submucous myoma of uterus should be considered. Placement of intrauterine devices can also cause bloody leucorrhea.
