E-Star Fengyun-3 is the first meteorological satellite with dawn orbit in Fengyun satellite family (also known as dawn-dusk orbit satellite) and the first sun-synchronous meteorological satellite in the world to realize dawn orbit operation.

Fengyun-3 satellite is a new generation of polar-orbiting meteorological satellite independently developed by China and reaching the international advanced level, creating many firsts.

It is the world's first civilian meteorological satellite in morning and evening orbit; Installed with the first dual-frequency and dual-polarization wind field measurement radar in China; China has achieved full-spectrum solar observation for the first time.
