Niangziguan travel guide
Niangziguan, known as the ninth pass of the Great Wall of Wan Li, is a battleground for military strategists in past dynasties. The ancient castle is commanding by the mountains and rivers, and there are two gates related to Niangziguan. The east gate is a brick gate for generals, titled "Niangziguan in Zhili", and there is a platform guard on it, which seems to be used to review soldiers and observe the enemy. The dangerous building in the south gate is majestic, strong and made of bluestone. The "Sujiang Tower" stands tall on the city gate, which is said to be the place where Princess Pingyang gathered to defend the enemy. The inscription on the door shows the importance of Niangziguan. The Great Wall in the southeast of Guancheng is winding along Mianshan, towering and straight. Surrounded by Taohe River in the west of the city, it doesn't melt all the year round. The steep mountains, valleys and the Great Wall form a natural barrier between Shanxi and Hebei. There are more than ten scenic spots, such as Chengtianzhai, Laojundong, Jealous Pottery, Beacon Tower, Finger Tower, Laundry Ball and Summer Resort. Diaoquan, called "sea eye" by local people, is the largest of all spring eyes. The waterfall falls more than 30 meters and is about 10 meter wide. The spring of "Haiyan" rolled, causing layers of foam, which was deafening. The spring water gushing from the flat land pours down from the cliff next to the "Sea Eye" and flows into Taohe River, forming water curtain cave Waterfall.
Niangziguan Waterfall
Niangziguan Waterfall, also known as Quanfei, is located under the Jealous Goddess Temple about 300 meters near the east gate of Niangziguan Castle, so it is named after its proximity to Niangziguan. It is the source of water in Zephyr and is called water curtain cave. There are many springs in the hillside valley, forming a hanging spring. The waterfall is formed by the confluence of many springs, pouring down from the cliff and hanging in front of the stone wall like white, forming a flying stream as high as ten feet. "Sea Eye" is the biggest spring eye. The spring water rolls and stirs up layers of waves, and the noise is deafening. There is a "Baotu Spring" spewing out next to the waterfall, and many small "Baotu Springs" set each other off. Streams of water gushed out, and the waves danced day and night all year round, adding a lot of color to the scenery of Niangziguan.
