What happens when dogs breathe through their mouths when it's not hot?

There may be many reasons why dogs still breathe through their mouths when the weather is not hot:

1. Dogs may generate too much heat after strenuous exercise, and they need to breathe to dissipate it.

2. The dog may have respiratory problems. Mild symptoms such as dry cough, runny nose, sneezing and mouth breathing may be a reflection of respiratory inflammation. In some cases, these symptoms may worsen, such as elevated body temperature, shortness of breath, increased heart rate, listlessness, loss of appetite and so on. It may be the manifestation of pneumonia or bronchitis.

3. Other reasons, such as the dog's emotional excitement, pungent smell and need to rest. It may also cause dogs to breathe through their mouths.
