How to prevent frosty weather from affecting sericulture trees?

Mulberry likes hot and humid environment. Mulberry buds, mulberry leaves and branches may be damaged by frost. The main preventive measures are as follows:

(1) When cold air comes, branches, fallen leaves and weeds can be burned on the windward side of mulberry field, and the upward radiation of ground temperature can be reduced by smoking, thus increasing ground temperature.

(2) Mulberry has certain regeneration ability, so different measures should be taken according to different varieties and damage degree of mulberry. For varieties with few secondary buds, the branches of mulberry trees damaged by freezing should be pruned properly in time, so as to promote mulberry bud, which has not germinated at the lower part or base of branches, to break dormancy and improve the germination rate.

(3) Remedial measures should be taken for frozen mulberry fields, such as ditching and drainage in time, pouring clear water fertilizer, applying spring fertilizer for shallow tillage and weeding, etc., to restore mulberry vitality as soon as possible, accelerate mulberry growth and minimize losses.
