Introduction to Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal in India is one of the seven architectural wonders in the world. It is also called the Taj Mahal. This is the testimony of the love of Shah Jahan, the fifth Mughal monarch, for his beloved Queen Mamtaz Mahal. There is actually a touching story behind the construction of the Taj Mahal. It is said that Shah Jahan married the queen in 19, and the queen died in 1630. Before she died, she asked the emperor for four promises, one of which was to build a beautiful mausoleum for her that everyone could see. So it took Shah Jahan 5 million rupees, 20,000 craftsmen and 22 years to complete this marble art building that shocked the world as the resting place of his beloved princess.
1633, Shah Jahan chose the big garden at the corner of yamuna river in northern India and began to build the Taj Mahal. Located in the lower reaches of Yamuna River, it is very empty, and Shahanjia can be seen from Agra Castle in the upper reaches of the river. Architecture and jewelry are Sha Han Jia's favorite, so he chose marble to build the Taj Mahal and decorated it with countless gems with exquisite craftsmanship.
More than 20,000 architects, mosaicists, calligraphers, sculptors and masons from China, Persia, Turkey and Baghdad participated in the construction of the Taj Mahal. This project uses domestic marble, gems, crystals and jade from China, agates from Baghdad and Yemen, emeralds from Tibet, Sri Lankan gems and Arabian corals.
The Taj Mahal changes with seasons and time. At dawn, the Taj Mahal is pink, like a blooming flower; At noon, the Taj Mahal is white and dazzling; In the evening, the Taj Mahal is gray and soft as pearls. The Taj Mahal can appear in white, tiger, gray and golden yellow when the full moon recedes and the stars shine. In cloudy weather, the Taj Mahal is like a mirage floating in the winter sky mist.
architectural feature
The Taj Mahal covers a wide area, consisting of the front hall, the main entrance, the Mughal Garden, the main body of the mausoleum and two mosques. There is a cylindrical tower at the four corners of the main hall of the mausoleum. The special place is that each tower inclines outward 12 degrees. In case of an earthquake, it will only fall on all sides and will not affect the main hall. No matter from which angle, the pure white Taj Mahal is magnificent and perfect in shape. Coupled with the reflection in the pool in front of the Taj Mahal, it is like two Taj Mahals reflecting each other. No wonder it is called one of the seven wonders of the world.
The Taj Mahal architecture is a rare masterpiece in the history of architecture, which concentrates the architectural artistic features of India, the Middle East and Persia, and its overall layout is perfect and harmonious.
Moguoer garden
This garden is a typical Persian garden, located in front of the main body, with a fountain in the center. Two rows of trees side by side divide the garden into four rectangles of the same size, because the four characters have the meaning of sacredness and peace in Islam.
Mausoleum main body
The main building is octagonal with a hemispherical dome in the middle. The whole main building is built with Shah Jahan's favorite white marble, which is inlaid with precious stones of various colors and made into some beautiful patterns and patterns. During the construction, 18 wells were dug under the main body, and each well was paved with a layer of stone and a layer of teak, so as to reduce the damage to the main body caused by the earthquake, which showed that Shah Jahan loved the Queen. The interior of the mausoleum can only be illuminated by sunlight penetrating from the outside. There are two empty sarcophagi in the marble screen, and the real resting place of Shah Jahan and the Queen is in another cellar underground.
After Sha Jiahan went to prison, he looked at the Taj Mahal from this perspective every day.
Romantic and aesthetic white love songs
Taj Mahal entered the palace in 19, gave birth to 14 in 1630, and died in Nanzheng military camp. Shah Jahan was very sad. In order to pin his thoughts on her, he recruited craftsmen from all over the world to build this peerless building. It is said that after the Taj Mahal was completed, he was more interested in building a pure black marble tomb with the same structure, which was far from it.
However, his son, aurangzeb, usurped the throne in his later years, imprisoned him in Agrafort and even refused to let him see the Taj Mahal. It is said that Shah Jahan can only gaze at the mausoleum several kilometers away through the refraction of a large crystal stone every night. Shah Jahan was imprisoned and executed seven years later, and his body was buried beside the Taj Mahal in the Taj Mahal. Perhaps this is more in line with the ending of this love story than burying a new grave.
mosque
There are two mosques on both sides of the main body, which are made of red sandstone and have a typical white dome at the top. The main purpose of building these two mosques is to maintain the balance effect of the entire Taj Mahal building and achieve the beauty of symmetry.
It is said that the most beautiful time of the Taj Mahal is the night when the moon is in the sky, because the white marble mausoleum will emit a faint purple in the moonlight, elegant and beautiful as a fairy. However, there are not many days of opportunity in a year. Whether you can appreciate it depends on your own luck. However, the Taj Mahal is equally charming in the morning and at night.
