Bacterial infections, such as acute inflammation of the mouth, palatine tonsils and face, often cause swelling of mandibular lymph nodes, which are soft and movable, and generally return to normal gradually with the disappearance of inflammation.

Measles virus infection and infectious mononucleosis can also cause lymphadenopathy. The diagnosis is rubella, which often causes retrooccipital lymph node enlargement.

Lymph node tuberculosis is common in cervical lymphadenopathy. Some will rupture, others will not, and it is sometimes difficult to distinguish it from lymphoma in clinic. The diagnosis method is to do lymph node puncture, smear and biopsy in many places to find out the primary focus of tuberculosis.

Metastatic carcinoma of lymph node This kind of lymph node is hard, tender and inactive. Clinically, patients with gastric cancer and esophageal cancer can often touch the small lymph nodes on the acicular bone. Breast cancer patients should always touch axillary lymph nodes to determine whether the tumor has metastasis.

Lymph node enlargement in leukemia is systemic, especially in the neck, armpit and groin. In addition to the symptoms of lymphadenopathy, it also shows anemia, persistent fever, hemogram and a large number of immature cells in bone marrow.

Lymphoma lymphadenopathy is more common in the neck. Lymphoma is a tumor originating from lymph nodes or lymphoid tissues. Therefore, there are some lesions other than lymph nodes, such as tonsil, nasopharynx, gastrointestinal tract, spleen and other injuries.

Lymph node enlargement can also be seen in connective tissue diseases such as lupus erythematosus. Another example is allergic diseases and mosquito bites. Therefore, we should have a certain understanding of lymphadenopathy, so as to make ourselves less suspicious and seek medical treatment in time.
