Teenagers are more affectionate in the festive season, but when they get old, they will feel sad.

time comes quietly and goes in a hurry. Standing in the sunshine of the years, I lightly touch the lifeblood of time. The plum blossom lane has become a thing of the past, the iron-stalked begonia is still open, the peach, red, willow and green have become memories, and the late spring is gone. Wandering around at the ten-mile intersection after years, I can't bear to look back. The former classmates and teenagers have already crossed the age of no doubt. "Zongzi is fragrant, the kitchen is fragrant, the mugwort leaves are fragrant, and the peach branches are inserted in the gate. When you go out, you can see that the wheat is yellow ...". In a blink of an eye, it's another year, and it's time for the fragrant leaves. There are still two or three days to the Dragon Boat Festival.

There is a custom that the soul grows in the same place, and it remains the same as it was when the years passed. It is the memory of childhood and the warmest time. Legend has it that the Dragon Boat Festival commemorates Qu Yuan, a Chu poet in the Warring States Period, who committed suicide by throwing himself into the Miluo River on the fifth day of May. However, many popular Dragon Boat Festival customs have been circulated before this, and many of them have elements of expelling plague and avoiding epidemic. Therefore, some people speculate that the Dragon Boat Festival originated from the taboo of evil days (that is, the fifth month of the lunar calendar, named after the epidemic of midsummer plague). There is also a folk saying that the Dragon Boat Festival in Soochow is to welcome Wu Zixu, who was regarded as a river god at that time, and has nothing to do with Qu Yuan.

Speaking of Dragon Boat Festival, I have to say Zongzi. At this moment, the fragrance of zongye is faintly floating in the air. Every Dragon Boat Festival, the south is already very sultry. Usually, the wheat harvest is over. Every household has spared no effort to make dumplings and cook them on the fourth day of the fourth grade. There are some differences between zongzi in the south and in the north, mainly zongzi leaves. There are many rivers in the south, and reeds can be seen everywhere along the river. Almost all the leaves of reed are used, and all the triangular reed leaves are sold in supermarkets. It is said that the north is the leaves of a zongye tree, and I have never seen what a tree looks like.

After the reed leaves are collected, they should be trimmed and cleaned first, and then rolled with boiling water in a cauldron. The dried rice straw is soaked in water and softened as a tie for binding zongzi, and hemp rope, nylon rope, bamboo shoot leaves and the like can also be used as a tie. Then, choose rice to soak rice. As a land of fish and rice, the glutinous rice in the first year was prepared early from door to door. Glutinous rice is a long granule which is a specialty of hometown, and it tastes mellow and thick, so it can be said that it is fragrant for lips and teeth. Next, dumplings are made. Generally, three reed leaves are folded to form a cone shape, filled with soaked glutinous rice, and finally folded and tied. According to personal preference, glutinous rice is also mixed with a little rice. How much glutinous rice is soaked in how much water, and how long it takes to pack it, all the impressions are based on feelings, because I have never seen the old man weigh rice and measure water, nor have I seen the fixed point and timing, but every time it is properly matched, which is still strange.

the last step is to cook zongzi in a big pot. The kitchen hall was filled with wood, and the bellows creaked. Many people will put eggs and duck eggs in the pot and cook them together. After cooking, open the lid and the house is full of fragrance. In the 198s, there was a relative shortage of materials, and the memory was basically pure rice dumplings. Later, with the improvement of living conditions, the family occasionally put one or two red dates in it. Rich families, as well as peanuts, adzuki beans, salted egg yolk, fresh meat, diced ham and so on, are spicy, sweet and delicious.

Time disappears in the crevice of fingertips, blurring the distant shadow. Time flies in the forehead wrinkles, met the beauty of a season. Probably because of family conditions, it would be very good to have a full meal at that time. Even wealthy families rarely have refrigerators. Because of the humid and sultry weather in the south, the leftover zongzi after cooking will be put in a big basin or a smaller water tank at home, and the cold water will be filled in the basin, or the zongzi will be gone. Every few days, change the water again, so that it can be stored for a longer time and can be eaten for a longer time. Especially in the hot sun, when I come back from busy farm work, I eat one with a bowl of barley porridge (which is rarely used by northerners). It is really beautiful.

There are indeed many customs about the Dragon Boat Festival. For example, eating zongzi, drinking realgar wine, dragon boat racing, hanging Zhong Kui in front of the house, hanging mugwort and wormwood (Acorus calamus), traveling to all diseases, wearing sachets and preparing sacrifices. Family members wrap colorful silk threads around their children's wrists. Legend has it that they can continue their lives and pray for a long life. "The Dragon Boat Festival" in Volume 8 of Tokyo Dream of China Record says: "Dragon Boat Festival objects: baisuo, mugwort, silver-like drum, fancy flower fan, fragrant candy, zongzi, ……". Teenagers are more affectionate in the festive season, but when they get old, they will feel sad. It doesn't work, but it's good to pray for wine and wine. In the Jianghuai area, every family hangs statues of bells, and bells catch ghosts to drive away evil spirits.

During the Dragon Boat Festival, literati in all previous dynasties wrote poems and fu, expressing their deep affection for Qu Yuan. Wen Xiu's Dragon Boat Festival in the Tang Dynasty: The festival is divided into the Dragon Boat Festival, and it is rumored to be Qu Yuan throughout the ages; I can laugh at the emptiness of the Chu River, and I can't wash it straight. Excerpt from Chu Chaoyang's Five Silk: But who recommended Quyuan Temple when boasting about the Dragon Boat Festival? When the wine is served, Miluo is far away. Li Longji: The Dragon Boat Festival is in mid-summer, and the days get longer when it is clear. Salt plum has been used as a tripod, and it has been sung and passed on. There are many, many, too numerous to mention.

When I remember the Dragon Boat Festival, I remember my childhood most, and my hometown more! A wisp of zongxiang is entrusted with deep thoughts, and colorful flowers are woven with deep blessings. May the green leaves of zongzi bring you a sense of peace and happiness, and the sweet stuffing can bring you infinite happiness and sweetness, so that the long colorful flower thread, together with a simple feeling and pure feelings, can blend into the thick fragrance of zongzi during the Dragon Boat Festival and float in the wind. I hope that the beautiful things will never be lost in the memory of you and me, just like the string of wormwood hanging in front of my hometown, and the unique fragrance of zongzi in that hometown … I wish you all a happy Dragon Boat Festival!
