High temperature weather accident

Today, Lao Wang will take stock of several spontaneous combustion accidents of new energy vehicles in the past. Because with the gradual increase of temperature, whether it is a fuel vehicle or a new energy vehicle, everyone must be alert to high temperature in daily use. Especially in June, then the hot weather in July and August.

Spontaneous combustion model: Li Yi.

Spontaneous combustion: At noon on May 8th, 1 1: 30, the hood of a Li ONE caught fire on the street in Changsha, Hunan. Subsequently, firefighters put out the fire on the car. Judging from the video of the discovery site, the fire point was suspected to have occurred at the position of the engine, and the hood area of the vehicle was seriously damaged. The whole head was almost burned beyond recognition, but the chassis and the rear half of the vehicle did not change significantly.

Official response: On May 2 1 day, Li issued an official statement on the fire incident of Li Yizhong on May 8, saying that the cause of the fire was "foreign objects attached to the front surface of the exhaust pipe in the lower right part of the front engine room". Through tracing, on April 28th, when Li ONE was preparing for spontaneous combustion in the delivery center, the delivery center staff laid protective pads around the engine room to protect the vehicle, which was a routine action of vehicle pre-sale inspection or after-sale maintenance. However, due to the mistake of the staff, the protective pad was left in the cabin. Later, when installing the protective cover of the range extender, the staff did not notice the foreign matter (protective pad) left behind, which led to the foreign matter being sealed in the cabin.

Autoignition model: Zhengzhou Nissan Shuaike EV

Spontaneous combustion event: On the day of Li Yi's spontaneous combustion, a Zhengzhou Nissan Shuaike EV spontaneously ignited at a charging station in Tangxia Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. On-site monitoring video shows that Shuaike EV is plugged in. At first, vehicles sounded like firecrackers, then smoke billowed from the bottom and flames emerged, and then the fire began to spread.

Official response: As of press time, Zhengzhou Nissan did not respond to this matter, but on May 9, Dongguan Development and Reform Bureau interviewed a charging station, investigated the fire accident, and put forward self-inspection and rectification requirements for relevant parties.

Auto-ignition model: GAC New Energy Aion S (AEON S)

Spontaneous Combustion Event: On May 18, several videos recording the spontaneous combustion of Aion S, a new energy of GAC, were circulated on a social media platform. It is reported that spontaneous combustion occurred in the parking lot near Carambola Park in Tianhe District, Guangzhou. Judging from the "ON TIME" logo posted on the Aion S body of GAC New Energy, this car comes from the online car of GAC New Energy * * * enjoying the travel brand such as Qi Travel Company.

Official response: On May 18, Gu Huinan, general manager of GAC New Energy, responded: "The Aion S spontaneous combustion incident of GAC New Energy may be related to the disinfection water in the trunk, and the specific reasons are still under investigation." Xiao Yong, deputy general manager of GAC New Energy, said: "The environmental conditions at the site are complicated, and the real cause of the fire needs to be investigated for some time." As of press time, the official has not announced the final investigation results.

Autoignition model: BYD Qin Pro EV

Spontaneous combustion event: On May 28th, a BYD Qin Pro EV spontaneously ignited at a charging station in Shenzhen. According to the news of netizens, the car was fully charged at around 4 am, then moved to the parking space next to it and spontaneously ignited at around 6 am. Through the video exposed on social media, it can be seen that the fire point of BYD Qin Pro EV came from the left chassis of the vehicle and spread rapidly from the fire.

Official response: As of press time, the cause of the accident is under investigation, and BYD officials have no response to this matter. Interestingly, however, at the previous BYD lithium ferrous phosphate leaf battery conference, Wang Chuanfu, chairman and president of BYD, said: "Leaf batteries will change the industry's dependence on ternary lithium batteries, return the technical route of power batteries to the right path, and redefine the safety standards of new energy vehicles."

Finally, Lao Wang reminds everyone that whether it is a fuel vehicle or a new energy vehicle, everyone must be alert to high temperature in daily use. Especially in June, then the hot weather in July and August.
