What's the weather like in Ecuador

The dry season is affected by the Peruvian cold current, and the rainy season is affected by the tropical high pressure zone.

After Colombia entered Ecuador, the Andes were divided into East Cordillera and West Cordillera. The plateau between the two mountains is high in the north and low in the south, with an average elevation of 2500 to 3000 meters. Ridges crisscross, dividing the plateau into more than ten intermountain basins. The most important are Quito Basin and Cuenca Basin in the south. The annual average precipitation is about 1000mm, with rainy season from February to June and dry season from July to June.

It is related to the seasonal movement of the wind zone in the pressure zone, the leeward slope of the trade wind and the influence of the cold current. Of course, it is mainly the seasonal movement factor of the pressure belt wind belt.

Rainfall varies greatly in mountainous climate areas, so it cannot be used to measure whether it is a mountainous climate.

Quito is located in the valley at the southern foot of Pichincha Mountain in the Andes south of the equator. The total population of Quito is 1, 839,853. At an altitude of 2850 meters, it is the capital closest to the equator. The climate is mild, with an annual average temperature of 13- 14℃, which is one of the places with the lowest annual temperature difference (only 0.6) in the world.
