The relationship between climate and weather

According to the Nanjing Morning Post, the climate in Nanjing has been abnormal this year. Plum blossoms bloom half a month late, willow trees germinate late, migratory birds return a week late, plum rains only lasted for three days, cicadas call a month earlier, and lotus flowers bloom 20 days earlier. By mid-May, it began to rain with butterflies. Residents who have lived in Nanjing all their lives said that they had never seen butterflies. Meteorologists said that behind these chaotic phenological phenomena, there are actually scientific meteorological laws to be found. The chaotic weather is the "culprit" of this phenological anomaly. Professor Yu Zhihao, a meteorologist at Nanjing University, believes that under the background of global warming, the climate and ecology are becoming extremely fragile, leading to frequent extreme weather. It is this irregular change that makes animals and plants that have always been sensitive to changes in nature pass the season.
