Changchun won the happiest city, why didn’t Harbin?

Changchun and Harbin are two northeastern cities. Since the decline of Changchun FAW and the film studio, Changchun has also declined. Since Harbin is the northernmost provincial capital city in my country, it focuses on tourism and the annual Ice Sculpture Festival attracts Visitors from all over the world, and many people like to drink Harbin beer, which has always been famous. I have been to both cities and would like to share my thoughts.

1. Harbin

For Cantonese people who have never seen snow, Harbin is a city they yearn for. Every winter, many of my friends like to go to Harbin to ski and see ice sculptures. Play in the snow. I went there in October last year. It hadn’t snowed yet in Harbin at that time, but as a tourist city, Harbin still has many attractions, such as Sophia Church, Central Street, etc. When I came to Sophia Church for the first time, I felt a bit like I was in Russia. There are many doves of peace here. Central Street is the most concentrated place for tourists in Harbin. It is not much worse than the pedestrian streets in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Surprisingly, it has the most Russian specialties here. Harbin is a beautiful city. Although it is different from coastal cities, as an inland city, I personally think Harbin is still good. Harbin holds the International Ice Sculpture Festival every year. Harbin beer sells well at home and abroad. Harbin Beer Festival is often held. Harbin Institute of Technology is also famous. Harbin Sun Island is even printed on our country’s passport. Among northeastern cities, Harbin’s presence has always been relatively high.

2. Changchun

Compared to Harbin, Changchun’s presence is indeed relatively low, but in the early days of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Changchun was very impressive. A large number of state-owned enterprises settled in Changchun one after another. my country’s first automobile Cars were born here, the famous Hongqi sedan was born here, and Changchun Film Production was born here. Many war movies I watched when I was a child were from here. It is not an exaggeration to be known as the proud son of the Republic of China. As time goes by, problems such as inefficient management of state-owned enterprises and rigid systems have become increasingly prominent. Changchun's automobile industry and film industry have slowly fallen behind. To be honest, if many friends around me, including me, don’t look at maps and weather forecasts, they would basically only know about Dalian, Shenyang and Harbin in Northeastern cities. Changchun feels like a typical industrial city to me. Since it was once the capital of the Puppet Manchukuo State, the most famous attraction is the Puppet Manchukuo Palace. The Puppet Manchukuo Palace is one of the three major Forbidden City in my country. Take the tram to Changchun to get there. The film festival is also quite meaningful. Although Changchun’s presence is relatively low in the Northeast, the Changchun Film Festival every two years can still attract a lot of attention.

Due to the single economic structure, the entire Northeast is facing development bottlenecks. The country has made a lot of efforts to "revitalize the Northeast", but cannot see the results. Personally, I think there are two main reasons:< /p>

1. The outflow of a large number of young people

I have long heard that the outflow of young people from Northeast China is very serious. It was not until I went there that I felt it. For example, half of the people taking the bus were old people. There is no such phenomenon. Those who were left behind either joined state-owned enterprises or went live streaming.

2. The phenomenon of having to pay for food and get cards is common

There is a saying that investment cannot be done in Shanhaiguan. I used to know a few friends from the Northeast. They said that the local government was inefficient and had to pay for food. The phenomenon of being stuck is very common, and outsiders simply don’t dare to invest.

To develop, in addition to policies, people are the key. As a former Communist and national pride, I believe that it will rise again in the near future. Northeast, come on!
