Prose plus post-reading feeling
The cold lasted for several weeks, and the birds soon died. In the fields and under hedges, countless rotten birds, such as birds, starlings and thrushes, lie in the fields of Chen Zhe, and the meat of the birds has been eaten up by secret gourmets. Suddenly, one morning, changes appeared. The wind blows to the south, and warmth and comfort come from the sea. In the afternoon, the sun shone on several stars, and pigeons began to coo slowly and clumsily. This voice seems a little hard, as if it has not recovered from the winter blow. At dusk, from the rose thorns in the riverbed, the faint cry of wild birds began to come.
There is still a thick layer of corpses scattered on the earth. How can birds suddenly sing? The faint and clear sound from the night is surprising. When the earth is still bound, the small voice of the clear moon has called for spring in the faint air. Although their calls are vague, if they are intermittent, they will throw bright and budding sounds into the sky.
Winter has passed. A new spring world. The field echoed with the sound of turtledoves. At the bottom of the inaccessible thorns, every night and every morning, the songs of birds will flash.
Where did it come from? That song? After such a long time of torture, how did these birds come back to life so quickly? It is lively, like a spring, dripping slowly from here and spewing out. The new life condenses into a pleasant sound in the bird's throat. It has opened up a silver waterway, gurgling all the way to welcome the fresh spring day.
When winter suppresses everything, the vitality of the buried spring is silent, just waiting for the heavy obstacles of the old order to recede. After the ice and snow melted, the kingdom of silver flashed in an instant. Under the winter waves that destroy everything, what lies dormant is the potential of precious flowers to bloom. One day, when the black waves run out of energy and slowly walk back, crocuses will suddenly appear and sway triumphantly. Then we know that the law has changed, and this is a new world, shouting for new life! Life!
There is no need to see the broken bird carcasses exposed in the fields, nor to recall the dull thunder in the cold and the cold that weighs heavily on us. Winter has passed, no matter what, our hearts will sing.
Even when we stare at the terrible sight of rotten birds scattered all over the floor, there will be waves of pigeons cooing outside the house, and crows faintly heard in the bushes. Those fragmented lives mean the retreat of tired and incomplete teams in winter. What fills our ears is the newly created clear and vivid horn, which is catching up from behind, and we hear the soft and cheerful rumbling drums of birds.
The world has no choice. We followed the bloody and terrible extreme winter parade with our eyes until it passed. Spring can't be restrained, no force can make birds quiet, stop the boiling of wild pigeons, stay in the rich creation of a beautiful world, and stop cheering themselves up and coming to us. Whether people like it or not, osmanthus trees will always smell flowers, sheep will always stand and dance, and chelidonium will always shine everywhere, which is a new world.
Those strong people will follow the winter to escape from the earth. Spring has come to us, and silver spring is surging in my heart. We can't help this joy. At this moment, we accepted this joy! In the changing season, crows sing extraordinary carols, which are unbearable for extreme pain and countless damaged deaths.
What a long winter! The ice just broke yesterday. But it seems that we have completely forgotten. It is surprisingly far away, just like the distant darkness. It looks so unreal, like a long night dream. The light of the new world is swaying in my heart and dancing around me. We know that the past was winter, which was long and terrible. We know that the earth has suffocated and destroyed. We know that the body of life is torn and scattered everywhere. All the injuries and tears, ah, yes, the past has come to us and surrounded us. Like a storm in the sky, a thick fog, or a downpour. It wraps around our hair like a bat and drives us crazy. But it will never be our deepest true self. We are like this, a silver crystal spring, once quiet, now rises and falls and pours into a blooming flower.
Life and death are incompatible. When you die, there is no life, only death, just like an overwhelming flood. Then, a new wave surged, which is all life and the source of silver bliss.
Death seized us, and everything was broken and sank into darkness. When life comes back to life, we become a weak but beautiful fountain under the stream, running towards flowers. When the red and lovely thrush makes its first cry among the thorns, how can it be associated with those bloody and feathered fragments outside the tree? In the country of death, there will be no beautiful song that can beautify the life world more than death.
Pigeons, turtledoves and thrushes can't stop singing. They threw themselves into it, although their companions were destroyed yesterday. They can't be sad, can't be silent and can't follow death. If you die, let it die. Now life is inspiring, swaying and moving towards a new paradise, a new paradise of science, where they can't help singing, as if they had never been so intense.
From the songs of birds, I heard the first explosion of this change. In my heart, spring is surging, inspiring us to move forward. Who can stop the coming impulse of life? It comes from a strange place, arrival on us, let us ride the fresh and soft wind blowing from heaven, just like birds born to die.
"Born to die" in Song of Birds
It is generally believed that "from birth to death" is the main theme of bird singing. The author regards living to death as the greatest spiritual character of birds, and finally the article praises the spirit and character of living to death. So, how does the article reflect this theme? Let's first understand what "from birth to death" is. The existence of dying was put forward by the famous philosopher Heidegger. It does not refer to the external relationship between the living and the death waiting for the end of life. Man is not the death that towards the distant has not presented step by step, but the death that has presented itself in our "walking"; In other words, the "direction" of life and death is essentially the manifestation of death itself, and people always exist in the way of life and death. In Heidegger's view, life and death are inseparable. Life is not to escape death, but to face death, which is why life is more important. Death has actually become the premise of life, and life is the end of death. This dialectical analysis is somewhat difficult to understand. In fact, it reflects the philosopher's positive outlook on life, that is, knowing death, life and death, and death and suicide. However, in this novel, the author expresses his thoughts on life and death, but he has some difficulties in the theme of "living to death". This requires us to sort out the ideas of this article. In order to better understand this article, the author consulted another translation (Yu Hongyuan's translation, titled Birds Singing, see Lawrence's Essays, Sichuan Literature and Art Publishing House, 1996, hereinafter referred to as "Sichuan Edition"). This paper focuses on the two philosophical propositions of "death" and "life", which are symbolized by "winter" and "spring" respectively, and expressed by the insipid and slow singing of birds and the light and sweet singing of birds. The first thing the author presents to readers is the cold winter, which is a cruel death. "Countless Bloodstained Clothes of Rotten Birds" gives readers a great visual impact, thus bringing a strong spiritual shock. And in this environment, the birds' crows slowly ring. In the second to fifth paragraphs of the article, death and life are specifically expressed through the singing of birds. "Slowly and clumsily cooing", "This sound seems a little hard", "There is a faint crow of wild birds", "A faint and clear voice", "A little clear voice", "Although their crow is vague, if it is intermittent, it throws a lively and budding voice into the sky" and "Twinkling the crow of birds". Second, it is clear, bright and pleasant. The reason comes from two aspects, the former is because the great power of winter has not subsided, and the latter is because the arrival of spring is unstoppable; The former is because death is still threatening birds, and the latter is because the breath of life is inspiring birds. In the "Sichuan Edition", there is such a passage after the fourth paragraph, which can help us better understand this struggle in "Bird Singing". "It is almost a pain to realize the arrival of the new world so soon. The earth is dead, long live the earth! Then the birds even omitted the first half of this declaration, and their cry was just a weak, blind and energetic' Long live'! " Why does the author say that "the arrival of a new world" is "a kind of pain"? Why "the earth is dead" and "Long live the earth"? The "earth is dead" here is because "a new earth is coming" and "the arrival of a new world" poses a great challenge to life. From the performance of birds, it can be seen that life is more difficult and challenging than death, so the author adds three interesting attributes to the call of birds: "weakness", "blindness" and "vigor". "Weakness" and "vigor" represent the poles of "death" and "life", while "blindness" stems from the author's worry. In the author's opinion, it is blind for birds to crow in a hurry before they realize the responsibilities and challenges of life. And this also caused the author to think deeply about death and life. Paragraphs 6 to 8 and 9 to 1 1 are the author's first and second thoughts on this phenomenon respectively. The first thinking focuses on getting out of death, and the second thinking focuses on singing to life. In the first thought, the author starts with winter and death: "Winter suppresses everything", "Broken bird carcasses exposed in the field", "dull thunder in the cold", "cold that weighs heavily on us" and "terrible sight of rotten birds scattered everywhere". Then I wrote about spring and life: "Crocus will suddenly appear and sway triumphantly", "Our hearts will sing" and "We heard the soft and cheerful rumbling drums of birds". In this part, the imprint of winter is still very deep. The seventh paragraph "Winter is gone, no matter what, our hearts will sing", and the "Sichuan Edition" reads: "We can stay a little longer in the memory of winter and destruction, but winter has left us, and our hearts can't help singing in the sunset. "What is there to miss in Winter and Destruction? In fact, this is the author's thinking about death, just as Heidegger looked at life from the perspective of death and studied death first. Paragraphs 9 and 10 mainly show "spring is irresistible" and "spring is coming to us ... we can't help it" and sing it to strangers intently. 1 1 is a supplementary explanation to the previous two paragraphs. It points out that winter and death "will never be our deepest true selves". Why did you come to this conclusion? In fact, this is related to the translation of a sentence in paragraph 9. Paragraph 9 of the article says that "the world cannot choose" is ambiguous. Is the world unable to choose or the world unable to choose? Comparatively speaking, the "Sichuan Edition" can let us know the author's intention more clearly: "We have no right to choose the world. We have no choice. "The first sentence emphasizes the objectivity of the world, and the second sentence emphasizes the objectivity of nature (including human beings themselves). Objectivity is the reason why we cannot avoid death and should see life from death. So spring and life are "our deepest true selves". Paragraphs 12 to 15 are the author's third thought. After thinking about the death and rebirth of life, the author summarizes the author's understanding of death and life in paragraphs 12 to 15, and gets the enlightenment of life from the summary. After pointing out that "life and death are completely incompatible", the author points out that life is a substitute for death and life is the legacy of death. The translation of textbooks in this place is very poetic, but it is also very obscure. With the help of "Sichuan Edition", we can easily understand the meaning of this passage by the author: "Where there is life, there is no death, there is no death, only silver joy and perfect heaven. Paragraph 14 of the textbook says: "They devoted themselves wholeheartedly, even though their companions were wiped out yesterday. They can't be sad, can't be silent and can't follow death. "Sichuan Edition" is translated as follows: "Even if all his peers were wiped out yesterday, he can't mourn, can't be silent and can't follow the dead. He doesn't belong to death, because life owns it. "The translation of Sichuan Edition emphasizes a profound understanding of the connotation of life. It can also be seen that the author consciously emphasizes the difference between life and death here, and life has important significance and mission. This is actually the concrete embodiment of the idea of "from birth to death". Heidegger's purpose is to inspire people to actively grasp the enterprising spirit of limited life and bloom the brilliance of life. On the whole, Song of Birds takes the order from concrete to abstract, from death to life, and highlights three thoughts: walking out of death, singing life and enlightening new life, which can be said to be the author's profound understanding and concrete explanation of Heidegger's "from birth to death".
The Construction of Death Ontology —— Towards Death?
Heidegger believes that death is "the existence towards death". (towards death) or "born to die". This assertion is the most frequently quoted but most difficult to understand mantra in modern thought. Heidegger called physical death "death", and in philosophy, death is the name of the way of existence on which it exists. Death is more basic and primitive than death, because only death can lead to death. It is generally believed that death is death and death is death. Even if they are different in concept, for example, death can refer to a process and the result of this process, death will not become a "condition" of death. However, this difference is the key to Heidegger's ontology of death. Heidegger's view is that as long as people don't die, they live in a dead way, that is, they always live in a "dead" or "deathable" way. This kind of "living" death exists before any form of death. People are dead, not "dead", but they have lost "dead". Of course, death means the end or the end, but it is a different end. Ending means finishing, getting ready, stopping, etc. For example, a completed expressway is completed; The last stroke, a painting will be done; The rain stopped; Wait a minute. Heidegger thinks: "None of these ending styles can properly mark the death of painting." Because "the end of death means not the end, but the end." Death is equivalent to "in the ultimate" and death is equivalent to "in the end"; As far as the difference is concerned, death is more real and more real than death: as the ultimate existence, death has actually ceased to exist. Although people always fantasize about the existence of "the underworld" or "the kingdom of heaven", this can only confirm the existence of "the dead" or "the world". Being born to die does not mean an external relationship between the living and death waiting for the end of life. Man is not the death that towards the distant has not presented step by step, but the death that has presented itself in our "walking"; In other words, the "direction" of life and death is essentially the manifestation of death itself, and people always exist in the way of life and death.
