Hiking Yunding Mountain and encountering the beautiful Rhododendron

I have always wanted to climb Yunding Mountain, but I never found the right time. I remember that the earliest time I had reached the foot of the mountain, the fog shrouded me and I couldn’t see the road at all. I met some uncles on the road who advised me not to climb in the foggy weather, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to see any scenery. So, I gave up the idea of ??climbing the mountain.

In March, my travel friend Xiaobing sent a message in the circle of friends saying that the azaleas in Yunding Mountain were in bloom and wanted to organize everyone to go see them together. At that moment, I signed up immediately.

Yunding Mountain is located near Wangqian Village, Tongantingxi Town, Xiamen City, connecting Anxi and Nan'an. With an altitude of 1,175 meters, it is the highest peak in Xiamen and is known as Xiamen's Mount Everest.

Every year around Qingming Festival, it is the time when azaleas are in full bloom. Many mountaineering teams, hiking teams and photography enthusiasts come here to admire the red azaleas that bloom all over the mountain.

The weather was particularly sunny on the day of the mountain climbing! Walking on the country road, I feel very happy!

This is the peak time for tourism. In order to ease traffic, the local government prohibits vehicles from going up the mountain. After our car arrived at Wangqian Village, we had to park at Shanping Natural Village and then hike up the mountain by ourselves. The road from Shanping Natural Village to Yunhou Natural Village is about 6 kilometers. Although it is not very far, it is not on flat land. It is uphill all the way. The uphill road is winding and steep, and walking is particularly exhausting.

Although cars cannot go up there, we often see motorcycles carrying passengers on the mountain. They will take the initiative to ask you if you want to take their car up the mountain, and it costs about 50 yuan for a trip down. However, my travel companion and I insisted on hiking up the mountain.

During the mountaineering process, Yunhou Village is a must-visit place. Yunhou Village is 850 meters above sea level and is the highest natural village in Xiamen. Due to the high altitude, transportation is inconvenient, so local villagers use stones to build their houses. Therefore, Yunhou Village became a village built with stones. I have to admire the wisdom of farmers!

Stone houses alternating with mountains and fields can be seen everywhere in the village. There is a stream in front of the door. There are a few leisurely ducks playing beside the stream, which gives it a strong rural atmosphere.

? At this moment, I suddenly remembered a poem by Meng Haoran: "An old friend invited me to the mountain home. The green trees are close to the village, and the green mountains are sloping outside." The clear water, green mountains and primitive farmhouse scenes described in the poem are exactly what we see in front of us.

As far as the eye can see, there are green terraced fields!

On the way up the mountain, we often saw several cyclists passing by us carrying bicycles. The mountain roads here are difficult to walk, but they actually rode bicycles to climb the mountains. I really admire their courage and ability!

? Before climbing the mountain, everyone said that Yunding Mountain was difficult to climb. I didn’t believe it at that time. After all, I have climbed Mount Huangshan with an altitude of 1,800 meters, so why should I be afraid of this mountain with a height of only 1,000 meters! But it turns out I was wrong.

? I don’t know since when, my physical strength has reached a threshold and my legs are sore. In addition, the two bottles of water he brought with him had been finished, and everyone was thirsty. I know that it is impossible to go back, I can only keep moving forward and strive to reach the end as soon as possible.

After climbing one hill after another, we finally reached the top of the mountain.

Climbing a mountain is hard work, but when I climb to the top of a mountain and conquer a mountain, I can look far away, see the beautiful scenery in front of me, hear the sweet sounds of birds, and breathe fresh air. At this time, all the worries in daily life are forgotten, and the whole person feels refreshed and extremely excited! Mountain climbing is so magical. It always brings you different pleasure after you reach the top after going through all kinds of hardships.

The azaleas on the top of the mountain are the most gorgeous! There are clumps and clumps, some are in full bloom, and some are in bud, which makes people intoxicated!

There is a ‘Three Boundary Monument’ standing on the top of the mountain. The Three Boundary Monument is the symbol of the top of Yunding Mountain. Just seeing this monument means you have reached the top of the mountain. There are three sides of the Three Boundary Monument, which are engraved with Tong'an, Anxi and Nan'an respectively. In other words, this is the closest place to Anxi and Nan'an.

Standing at the Three Boundaries Monument, the highest point of Yunding Mountain, you can see several winding roads and have a panoramic view of the entire Tong'an Island!

On the way down the mountain, we passed Shaxi Reservoir, which is the highest reservoir in Xiamen. It is surrounded by mountains and feels like a sky lake.

There is a wide lawn around the reservoir with beautiful scenery. It is a good place for camping and leisure. Many self-driving people will set up tents to rest when they drive here.

The azaleas around the reservoir were also in full bloom. Everyone kept pressing the shutter to record the beautiful scene in front of them.

? Going down the mountain, you pass a temple. The temple is built on the mountain and there is a holy spring behind the temple.

The water of the holy spring is particularly sweet and delicious, and everyone takes the finished mineral water bottles to fill it up.

It was already past 4 o'clock after viewing the azaleas, so we quickly took a path back down the mountain. The path is difficult to walk, so everyone helps each other and brings out the team spirit to the fullest!

This path just passes through a large canyon. The Grand Canyon in Yundingshan has steep terrain and is undeveloped, so the environment is still well protected. Next to the canyon is a pool with crystal clear water.

? This time, I hiked through Yunding Mountain with a few travel friends. The whole journey is 14 kilometers, the route is long and the slope is very steep. It takes more than 5 hours to go back and forth. Although it was very hard, everyone successfully climbed to the top of the mountain with strong perseverance and saw the beautiful azaleas.

In fact, every mountain climbing experience is a test of one's perseverance and a breakthrough of limits. Climbing mountains not only allows us to get closer to nature, but also allows us to see ourselves more truly. I think this is the greatest miraculous effect that mountain climbing brings to me.
