At 06: 00 on July 27th, 2023, the No.5 typhoon "Du Surui" (strong typhoon level) was centered on the sea about 1060 km south of our city, that is, 2 1.3 degrees north latitude and 0/19.3 degrees east longitude, and the maximum wind force near the center was/kloc.
It is estimated that Du will move to the northwest at the speed of15-20km per hour, and the intensity will be strengthened. Affected by the southerly airflow around the subtropical high and typhoon Du, it is predicted that there will be an obvious heavy precipitation process in our city from July 28 to 3 1.
Accompanied by strong convective weather such as short-term heavy precipitation, thunderstorms and strong winds, the rainfall is unevenly distributed in time and space. The heavy precipitation mainly concentrated on the 29th to 30th, and the heavy precipitation areas were mainly distributed in the central and eastern counties such as Huaibin, Gushi, Shangcheng, Xinxian and Huangchuan. The cumulative precipitation in the process is 50-90 mm, the local single station 120-200 mm, and the maximum hourly rainfall intensity is 50-80 mm.
