The plot synopsis of Ogawa's Edge

Oi Sakunosuke (Noriyuki Higashiyama), a feudal lord of the Misaka Domain, received an order from the feudal lord's old aide Kawa Gonnojo (Sasano Takashi), saying that the feudal lord ordered him to fetch his friend Sakuma Mori (Ainosuke Kataoka) life. The killer who originally pursued Sakuma returned to his hometown to recuperate due to illness, so the domain chose Sakunosuke to complete the task on his behalf.

Sakuma once wrote a letter strongly criticizing the agricultural administrative reform promoted by the feudal lord and his cronies. After learning about it, the feudal lord immediately issued a punishment for Sakuma. However, when he arrived at his residence, he found that Sakuma and his wife had disappeared, and the feudal lord sent someone to take their lives in order to save face.
