The battle takes off—my 1986-1987

Since the self-defense counterattack in 1979, the Sino-Vietnamese border has been experiencing intermittent fighting. After we recaptured Laoshan and Zheyin Mountains in 1984, we were in a tug of war with the Vietnamese army on the border. Although there were no large-scale battles, sporadic battles continued. In 1986, our regiment received an order to go to Yunnan to participate in the self-defense counterattack against Vietnam.

Before departure, we conducted targeted pre-war training and formed a combat team. I was a member of the combat team. Our main task in participating in the war was to defeat the Air Force's reconnaissance and interference and cover the ground troops. We focused on the "border relocation" training. The training subjects were from T1 to T10, and the difficulty gradually increased. Before the transition, we all passed the pre-war assessment. .

From the northeast to the southwest, the air transfer spans more than 1,3,000 kilometers, landing at Chifeng, Bikeqi, Yinchuan, Lintao, Dazu Airport, and finally arriving at Yunnan Yanshan Airport. Our regiment dispatched 26 aircraft, organized into seven echelons. I was assigned to the position of No. 2 aircraft in the last echelon. The No. 1 aircraft was a training aircraft. The division chief of staff and the division training section served as staff pilots. The No. 3 aircraft was the deputy captain of Zhuge Group. The No. 4 aircraft was the New Year.

On September 10th, we arrived early to make pre-flight preparations, but the weather was foggy and the visibility was only a dozen meters. After checking the aircraft, we returned to the dormitory to stand by. Towards noon, the weather showed signs of improvement and we entered the site for the second time. As soon as the fog cleared, the division commander who was the takeoff commander flew over from Mudanjiang Airport in a J-6 aircraft. After the division commander landed, he gave the takeoff order, and we began to take off one after another. We were the last echelon. When we took off and climbed to 12,000 meters, we heard the first echelon starting to land and the second echelon had also dropped in altitude. When we arrived at Chifeng Airport, we stopped for two days due to bad weather. On the third day, we passed through Bikeqi Airport and arrived at Yinchuan Airport. Since it was already getting late, we stayed at Yinchuan Airport. Unexpectedly, we would not be able to leave after staying here. The weather was always bad. After the Mid-Autumn Festival, on September 19th, we came out of Yinchuan Airport, passed through Lintao and Dazu Airports, and arrived at our destination - Yanshan, Yunnan that same day. Airport.

Our camp is not too far from Pingyuan Street Town. This town is the only way for the Army to transport troops and supplies to the front line. During this period, the fighting on the front line was still very intense, and fighting occurred from time to time. The local social situation was still very complicated. I heard that Vietnamese agents were often present. When the site leaders introduced these situations to us, we felt a little nervous.

That afternoon we entered the combat duty room to prepare for the next day's combat duty. The commander is the commander of the second brigade and the battle brigade, the No. 1 unit is the captain of our first brigade Lin, Huihua is the No. 2 unit, Zhuge is the deputy captain of the No. 3 unit, and I am the No. 4 unit. The battle duty room is in a clean yard. There are several trees that no one has seen growing on the north side of the yard. The station duty officer said they are called kapok trees. The trees are full of pink flowers, which are very beautiful. . There are also several castor trees more than ten meters high on the side. The trunks are thicker than the mouth of a bowl and covered with castor beans. This is the first time I have seen woody castor trees, and they are so tall. , which makes us feel fresh. In addition to the pilots on duty, there are also on-duty staff officers from the regiment and station support personnel in the yard. The maintenance duty room is in a row of houses outside the yard. There is also a table tennis room and badminton court in the yard, which are in good condition. We have now reached the front line, and we should first familiarize ourselves with the combat environment. We looked at the parking position of the plane and the route to get on the plane, became familiar with various signals again, and rehearsed the combat take-off procedures on the spot.

Before dawn the next day, the staff officer on duty woke up and began to receive the aircraft. In coordination with the command post, he made battle preparations early. We know that this is the first day of official combat duty for our troops stationed at the frontline airport. Normally, the front finger will check our combat readiness and take off regardless of whether there is any situation. But we prepared nervously all day, and we didn’t even wait until the end of the class. The second and third days also passed peacefully in a tense atmosphere. After breakfast on the fourth day, the five of us were preparing together as we had the previous few days. The alarm bell rang, and the staff officer on duty shouted: "Four machines, one waiting!" The five of us quickly picked up our equipment and ran out of the room, running Wear your helmet while wearing it. At this time, the maintenance staff had opened the cockpit cover of the aircraft in front of us. We got on the aircraft, turned on the power switch, fastened the parachute belt and seat belt, checked the aircraft, and at the same time watched the signal in the hand of the signalman in front of the aircraft. The signal is raised, it's dual-machine driving. According to the regulations, dual-machine driving means that the front two-machine drives and the rear two-machine is backup. If they cannot start, we will drive again. I saw the captain and Huihua's twin planes start up smoothly, and the signalman gave the signal for the twin planes to take off. Zhuge and I watched the first twin planes slide into the runway and take off. After our two planes were put on second-class duty, we got off the plane, and the staff officer on duty asked Zhuge to take a call from the command post. We watched Zhuge enter the duty room to answer the phone. In just ten seconds, Zhuge rushed out of the duty room and ran to the plane. I watched him run and ran with him. The maintenance staff of our plane hadn't returned to the lounge yet. When they saw us running towards the plane, they thought they were waiting again, so they hurried back to prepare for the plane. The staff officer on duty didn't know what was going on. Seeing that we were ready, he reported to the command post: We will be ready as soon as possible.

The command post was confused: Who asked you to enter the first class? The staff officer on duty immediately gave us a signal to get off the plane. We returned to the duty room and asked Zhuge what was going on. Zhuge said: "I just answered the phone and the command said there was activity among Vietnamese Air Force planes. After the first two planes exit the airspace, you take off and be ready to take off." So that's what happened. What's going on, I said: "The first two planes have just taken off, and it's still early for them to exit the airspace. Why are you in such a hurry to get on the plane? Besides, no matter what the situation is, you have to talk to us first." We Zhuge " After a "training", an hour later, the team leader and Huihua returned to land, and we didn't wait for the order to take off. At noon, everyone got dressed and lay on the bed to rest, because they had something on their minds and couldn't sleep well. In a daze, we heard the alarm bell ringing again. We hurriedly got up, grabbed our equipment and ran out. After leaving the door, people wake up. After getting on the plane and getting ready, I saw the signal for the two planes to take off again. I didn't believe it. After confirming that it was correct, the first two planes took off again. We returned to second-class duty status. We did not go back to the duty room. We sat under the wing and chatted with the crew. Zhuge Zheng and I complained: "There is really no future in following you. Look, we have taken off twice this day. We were also on duty and followed you three times, but never took off." At this time, we heard the sound of the alarm bell again, and we quickly got on the plane and saw the signalman giving the signal for the two planes to start and take off. I followed Zhuge in driving, taxiing out, taking off with afterburner, retracting the landing gear and flaps, loading the three cannons with shells according to the coordination, and rising towards the No. 22 airspace to be fought. The sky was very quiet. We maintained the battle formation at an altitude of 8,000 meters. After 40 minutes of activity, we heard the return signal from the command post and returned to land. During the entire one-hour flight, radio silence was maintained and the spirit was high. When commenting on the day's combat duty, the former commander gave a positive evaluation: both the speed of level transfer and the time to prepare again were very fast, and the airspace position was also maintained very well, reflecting an old unit. The proper fighting style.

A few days later, the duty sequence was adjusted. Deputy Captain Zhuge and I were adjusted to Units 1 and 2, while Huihua and Xinchun were Units 3 and 4. That day Zhuge met doctors from the air ambulance team at the airport. One of the doctors was a fellow from Beijing. After finishing the shift, Zhuge would go back to talk to fellow villager Lao Lao and tell me to come back later, but never later than ten o'clock. I waited until 11 o'clock in the evening and no one came back, so I was a little nervous. When they didn't come back at 11:30, I couldn't lie down. I went to the commander's room to wake up the captain of the second brigade and the brigade and asked him what to do. He said: "Did we agree on ten o'clock, not twelve o'clock?" I said it was absolutely right. He said: "We have just arrived here. The social situation here is so complicated. Nothing will happen, right? Let's wait until twelve o'clock. If we haven't come back yet, let's go out and look for it." We still didn't come back at twelve o'clock. We got dressed and walked back along the road from the airport to the camp. We held a flashlight in our left hand and a loaded pistol in our right hand. We kept a distance of three to five meters. Walking in tandem and searching. I checked carefully in ditches on the roadside and behind trees. If I found any wet spots on the ground, I had to make sure there were no blood stains. At one o'clock, we walked to the camp and woke up our captain and instructor. When we were discussing whether to report to the regiment, Captain Zhan noticed a person walking on the road in the distance and shouted "Zhuge!" "The man stopped. We saw right, it was him. It turned out that I was chatting with fellow villagers so much that I lost track of time. On the way back, the two of us took turns criticizing Zhuge. He talked too much, and he was very unhappy. He choked Captain Zhan, and Captain Zhan fell silent. The three of us walked back to the duty room in silence. When I arrived at the duty room, I said, "You told me to promise to be back at ten o'clock. The two of us waited for you until twelve o'clock. We were afraid that you would encounter an accident on the way. We worked hard to find the camp from the airport, even looking for bushes and trees." "Why can't I just say a few words to you?" He also felt that he had gone too far, so he went over to apologize to Captain Zhan. No one mentioned it again.

Here, combat duty is the main task, and our combat team has many people on duty. When on duty, there were more combat take-offs, almost every day. Basically, as soon as the Vietnamese plane takes off, we take off. Sometimes Vietnamese MiG-23 aircraft operate at the border, and our endurance time is not as good as theirs, and we have to take off several batches in succession. Once, Huihua, Xinchun, Xu and I were on duty for four people. That evening, the command post reported that Vietnamese reconnaissance planes would have border activities tomorrow, and they must be prepared to "pass the border." The next morning, the command post also cooperated with us early. We didn't rest after getting up and prepared for the flight seriously. We were afraid that missing any details would affect the completion of the combat mission. Everyone was very nervous. After breakfast, Captain Lin came in to help us prepare. He told us what to pay attention to when taking off and what to pay attention to when intercepting. As we were talking, we suddenly heard the sound of the alarm bell. We hurriedly ran out, went to the window sill to pick it up and put it there. He ran toward the plane in his flying gear, putting on his helmet as he ran. At this time, Huihua shouted, "My helmet, my helmet!" He couldn't find his helmet on the windowsill.

The staff officer on duty ran out of the room: "What are you doing? Where are you running?" With a look of confusion on his face, we ran and shouted: "Wait a minute! Wait a minute!" He said: "I have to pull you even if you wait a minute. You didn’t pull the bell either?” We thought, that’s right, you didn’t pull the bell, so where did the ringing sound come from? We all stopped, and then we saw a soldier running with a sickle and pulling at the iron fence of the flower pond on the side of the road. The sound was the same as an alarm bell. We drank the soldier, came back with a smile, and put the helmet in the same place. At this time, Huihua was still running from room to room looking for helmets. We looked at the helmets on the window sill and said, "Aren't there four of them? Where are you going to look for them?" Huihua picked up the first one placed on the windowsill. The helmet looked at it and said, "This is my helmet. Where did it go just now?" At first we didn't know what was going on, so we said, "No one has moved it. It has been left there. We can't take two by ourselves." helmet". He was right: "When I went out just now, there was no helmet on the window sill. Why is it back now?" This matter became a mystery. Later we found out that everyone was very nervous that day. When they heard the bell, they all ran to the window sill to get their helmets. The captain thought he was on duty, and as usual, he naturally ran to the window sill and picked up the first helmet. Helmet and ran to the plane. Later, he said it was not a matter of waiting, and then he thought that he was not on duty today, so he didn't say anything, so he calmly put the helmet back in its place and let Huihua look for it. Although everyone was very nervous on this day, such a small episode also relieved it a lot. I don’t know why the Vietnamese plane didn’t take off, so we didn’t take off either.

The Army is participating in the battle with the troops of the 47th Group Army of the Lanzhou Military Region. Recently, they will organize a relatively large-scale battle, codenamed "Operation Blue Sword B". We need the cooperation of our Air Force to ensure absolute air supremacy and prevent Vietnam from The Air Force posed a threat to our ground attack, and we were coordinated by former Army designees.

On October 14, our whole group waited and entered the venue before dawn to prepare. However, due to heavy fog, the ground battle did not start on time. At noon, the fog began to lift, the ground battle began, and we took off one after another. Zhuge and I were the first batch. When we took off, the fog on the ground had just risen and had not cleared yet. The plane entered the clouds as soon as it left the land. Fortunately, we were out in a few seconds. In accordance with the coordination, after retracting the landing gear and flaps, we loaded the three guns with shells and entered the airspace to prepare for battle. Subsequently, Huihua and Xinchun also took off and entered the No. 22 airspace waiting for combat. Knowing that there was a war going on below, we were also a little nervous. We kept alert and flew along the border at an altitude of 6,000 meters. The sky was very quiet, except for the noise of the engine and radio, there was no sound. This added to the tense atmosphere. While maintaining the formation with the lead aircraft, I tried to find the exact location of the ground battlefield according to the points marked on the map, but there were vast mountains below and it was impossible to determine.

Until the end of the ground battle, the Vietnamese Air Force planes did not take off. We took off eight batches of sixteen sorties in a row. Not long after we all landed, we saw helicopters flying back from the front line one after another, and many wounded were being evacuated. Yanfeng went to the plane to take a look, and when he came back he told me: "All the seriously injured people were carried off. There was a little soldier who was covered with bandages and could still speak. He said he drank Maotai before departure. He drank Moutai regarded it as an honor, and I didn’t know if this little soldier could survive.” After getting off the helicopter, the wounded were put on the big plane, and it was said that they were flown to Beijing for treatment. The next day, a battle report came from the front. This battle captured two highlands, 604 and 968, and wiped out more than 200 enemy defenders. However, our army also suffered 56 casualties. We completed the cover task very well and were praised by the front finger.

Some days later, we got a videotape from the former commander, which showed the entire battle actually shot on the battlefield. Although we knew the battle situation from the battle report, we also saw the wounded being carried off the front line, and knew that the battle was fierce. After watching the film, we were deeply shocked: the film showed the entire battle process from a first-person perspective: first, the artillery preparations , and then the commando team began to enter the battle, entering the stage of searching and digging holes. Submachine guns, grenades, and flamethrowers were all used. The fighting was very hard and fierce, with gunshots, cannons, and shouts resounding. During the assault, the assault captain was injured, and a soldier was also injured on the head. His face was covered in blood. When the people on the side were about to carry the injured soldier down, the soldier shouted: "Save the captain first!" and died. Yes, this scene will be unforgettable to me for the rest of my life.

During the war, we took off a lot in combat, but we only took off twice in actual combat missions. The "Blue Sword B" operation was one, and the second combat mission was to cover the border reconnaissance of the reconnaissance aircraft. This is an operation with a very high level of confidentiality. On November 25, the former military commander conducted a coordinated and practical flight exercise with us, and took off two batches of four sorties. The difference from the past is that they did not operate in the airspace waiting for combat, but flew along the border. , basically flying along the border. We didn't know what the specific mission was at that time, but we knew it should be a relatively large combat operation. On the morning of the 26th, the regiment leader suddenly ordered Deputy Commander Cai, Deputy Commander Yao, Captain Li, Ya Li and me to enter the scene. During the process of entering the field, I saw the serious expressions of the regiment leader and political commissar, and knew that the combat operation had begun.

When we arrived at the airport, the regiment commander issued a combat order to a group of 10 pilots who had just arrived and were on duty outside: "This time we are performing combat mission 8611, covering the border reconnaissance of reconnaissance aircraft. We are required to strictly maintain radio silence. Load the bombs after takeoff, be ready for combat, and be ready to fight at any time. "At this time, we saw a very small electronic reconnaissance aircraft sliding over from the south end of the runway. It was said that this was an electronic reconnaissance aircraft imported from abroad. advanced. Because the reconnaissance aircraft had to fly in the opposite direction after taking off to conduct a confusing flight, so our cover aircraft had to wait. When we saw the reconnaissance plane flying over the airport, the first batch of cover aircraft, Deputy Commander Cai and Huihua, took off. 15 minutes later, the second batch of cover aircraft, Deputy Commander Yao and Xinchun, took off. The team leader and I were the third batch. , also took off 15 minutes after the second batch took off. After taking off, reload and be ready for battle. Subsequently, the fourth batch of deputy captain Yu and Yun De, and the fifth batch of captain Li and Yali also took off. We maintained a combat formation in the air and flew on our side along the national border. After we returned and landed, the regiment leader told us that the reconnaissance plane had completed its reconnaissance mission and flew directly back to Beijing. That night, the command post commented on our combat mission flight and said that the mission was completed very well and the commander was very satisfied.

We have been on the road for more than two months, and the expected date of delivery for our family members is approaching soon. Although I am very busy with combat duties and flight training, my letters range from one letter a week to one every two days. Nowadays, I write one letter every day, telling her anecdotes about this place and trying to make her feel as good as possible. For some, I think this is all I can do, and the rest is to wait uneasily for the telegram. On December 3rd, we were exercising and playing volleyball on an Army volleyball court not far from us. The timekeeper came to me with a telegram. I saw the telegram and it read: "December 1st, 23rd. At 43:00, mother and son are safe. "I jumped up happily. I have a son and I am a father. I stopped playing golf, so I went to the service club and bought a few cans and two bottles of wine. In the evening, I invited the pilots of the group to drink, and I drank a lot. There is joy, a hint of bitterness, and some regrets. I am happy to be a father and have a son, and both mother and son are safe. The bitter thing is that when my wife gives birth, she needs her husband to be there most, but I am not there. Unfortunately, I did not see what my son was like when he was born. When I see my son, he will definitely not be what he is now. Originally, Huihua's family's due date was on the same day as my family's. I was already a father, but there was still no news from him, so he was a little anxious. A week later, the telegram "mother and daughter are safe" came. Although I wanted a son, giving birth to a girl was still a happy thing. Then came the New Year. After New Year's Day, I received a telegram that the mother and son were safe. The only child in the family gave birth to a son, and she fulfilled her wish. More than half a month later, Yuming called to report that he had given birth to a son. The telegram was brought by the instructor of the brigade. The instructor said: "Congratulations, mother and daughter are safe." Yuming was an only child, and the family wanted to have a son. He said that he had done a B-ultrasound on his wife, and it turned out to be a son. When he heard the instructor say that mother and daughter were safe, his expression suddenly changed and he smiled unnaturally. After reading the telegram for a long time, at everyone's urging, I went to the closet to get cigarettes for everyone. When everyone saw that it was Ashima cigarettes, they said, "Didn't you say that when you give birth to a son, you will smoke cloud cigarettes for everyone?" He said, "I am talking about a son. Now that a girl is born, Ashima will be good." "Everyone was a little surprised. He read the telegram for a long time just now, but didn't see that it said "mother and son are safe"? Everyone said, "What did you just read? Let's take another look. Are the mother and child safe?" He looked at everyone suspiciously, then searched his pockets for the telegram. After finding it, he read it for a while and laughed: "I was so early." Just say that I will definitely give birth to a son. If you still don’t believe it, how about?” He took out two more cloud cigarettes from the cabinet and distributed them to everyone. During our war, four pilots among our classmates had children at home, all concentrated between December and January of the following year, which brought a lot of joy to our participation in the war and also added a lot of happiness to us. Few new topics.

After New Year's Day, people from all levels came to express their condolences. On this day, five people were on duty: Deputy Captain Yu, Captain Lin, Huihua, myself, and Chang Kuan. The front finger gave out a lot of condolences, including cans, fruits, candies and other things, and each person had two large plastic bags. Everyone had nothing to do, and the deputy captain watched. The four of us, the captain, played poker, three against one, to win consolation gifts. The first time I asked for 60, I was "picked". Since the rules were not discussed in advance, these three people made up temporary rules and divided up my condolences at once. As we continued playing, the three people said that considering that I had nothing to lose, the chips should be smaller. As a result, I lost a lot and won all afternoon, but I didn't win back a can. I was a little depressed, but the three of them were very proud. The regiment must convey instructions from superiors and return to the camp after combat duty is over. When we were having dinner, the captain first took off his pistol and put it on the empty table. While eating, he made some angry remarks to me. After eating, he hummed a little tune, picked up his condolences and left. Seeing that his gun was still on the table, I tied his gun inside my clothes and followed him back to the camp calmly. The regiment gathered in front of the building, and the deputy regiment leader conveyed the instructions from the superiors. Our team stood in the front row, the team leader stood at the front of the row, and I stood at the end of the row. I could see the team leader's movements with my peripheral vision. The deputy commander was conveying instructions from his superiors. I saw the team leader suddenly put his hand on his waist. He probably found that the gun was no longer on him. I didn't have to look at his extremely nervous expression to know what he looked like.

He looked for a few of our people on duty in the team, and finally stared at me for a while, as if he knew what was going on. After the deputy leader finished speaking, the team disbanded. The team leader ran up to me, pulled me to his dormitory, opened the closet, pointed to the fruits and cans that were usually on the stove and said, "Take whatever you want." Everyone followed, and I didn't know. What's going on. I saw that the two cans I had just put in were still there. I was not polite, so I picked the four best cans, gave him the gun, and walked away humming a tune. This time I was relieved, but the captain was depressed again.

On New Year's Eve, we sat in front of the TV early, preparing to watch the Spring Festival Gala. However, Yunnan Channel did not broadcast the CCTV program, and instead showed Yunnan local opera programs that we did not understand or understand. We ran to the rooftop to set off firecrackers, and set them off opposite the pilots of the assault force who lived in the front building at the same time. When both sides were having fun, the regiment leader came up and gave us a scolding. The pilots of our group returned to the room and felt that the Spring Festival would be too boring if we spent it like this. Since we can’t watch CCTV’s Spring Festival Gala, we’ll have our own gala. Yanfeng brought his dual-card tape recorder, and Chang Kuan and I brought our guitars. We all chose our own favorite tracks. Under the auspices of the New Year, the Spring Festival Gala for the Frontline of our Air Force Brigade officially began... .We sang lively for several hours, had a different Spring Festival, and left a very meaningful tape as a souvenir.

After the Spring Festival, the day to return to the team is coming soon. These days, everyone is focusing on preparing for the return to the team. We prepared very carefully. During the transition of such a large force, we may encounter any situation. After all, we don’t have much experience in transition.

March 15th was the day to return to the army. Due to bad weather, the troops that replaced us were still on the way. The original plan was that we could not leave until the troops that replaced us were stationed. The leader of the former command asked us to return to the construction site according to the planned time. I was also the last batch to return to the construction site. The No. 1 unit was Deputy Commander Yao, and the No. 2 unit was During the New Year, the No. 3 plane was the big Captain Li, and I was the No. 4 plane. After taking off, the four of our planes rose to the specified height. We heard the first batch of people landing. We did not hear the questions on the ground, we only heard The group leader said, "250, no runway in sight." I knew that the 250 reported by the group leader was the height of the cloud base. It seemed that the weather at the landing site today was complicated. We heard a lot of radio commands along the way, some with large landing deviations, some with go-arounds, and it was quite chaotic for a while. I reminded myself not to make any mistakes and to concentrate on flying to the close navigation station and then find the runway. When we arrived above the navigation station of the landing airport, we made a correction angle and disbanded above the clouds. The single aircraft descended through the clouds. It entered the clouds at an altitude of 4,000 meters and remained in the clouds. I controlled the aircraft according to the instruments and corrected the aircraft to the descent line. When I reached an altitude of 500 meters, the landing radar informed me that my altitude and position were both good, and I felt confident. The plane was out of the clouds at an altitude of 200 meters, but it felt like it was foggy below. When I arrived at the long-range navigation station, I accurately made the movements to fly to the short-range navigation station and flew towards the short-range navigation station. At an altitude of 150 meters, I looked at the runway. First I saw a bright spot in front of me. I knew it was the searchlight at the head of the runway. I also saw a big triangle and two white lines. The runway was between the triangle and the white lines. I quickly adjusted my speed and landed. We have never flown in such complicated weather before, and it was the first time we caught up at an unfamiliar airport. It should be said that the performance was good. After landing, we could have continued flying to the next station. Since the troops taking over our turn had to pass through this airport to reach the frontline airport, we had to wait until they all landed before taking off. They were also quite chaotic during the landing process. Some of them deviated greatly, some made go-arounds, and some even disobeyed instructions. I think this is also a northern army and rarely flies in such low weather. After they landed, they took off directly and stationed at the front-line airport. After they left, it was getting late, so we stayed at the local airport for the night and took off early the next day. At this stop, we landed at Lintao Airport. After landing, the weather station said there was wind and sand and wouldn't let us leave, so we had to stay again. After we settled in the guest house, we went out to walk around the camp. I was still wondering, there was no wind in this weather, how could there be wind and sand? As we were walking, we felt a breeze and heard a rustling sound. We looked along the sound and saw that in the valley between two mountains, It was like a dark yellow "wall" was pushed over. Everyone didn't know what was going on and stopped there to look. As this "wall" got closer and closer to us, the feeling of the wind became a little different. I don't know who shouted: "Oh my god, isn't this sand and dust!" We ran back quickly and returned. Before reaching the house, this "wall" concealed us inside. The sky suddenly darkened, and the sky was full of yellow. We couldn't open our eyes, and our mouths and noses were full of sand. After finally entering the room, they looked at each other and their hair and eyebrows were all yellow. In such weather, we had no choice but to close the doors and windows and rest in the room. The weather improved the next day, but there was dust everywhere, and the dust on the windowsill was a centimeter thick. We can continue to transfer. When the plane took off, a burst of dust was thrown up. We couldn't see the takeoff plane at all on the ground. There was a formation that did not assemble during the take-off phase. It only rallied after rising to the prescribed height and out of the clouds. . It was better when we took off, but it was only after we reached an altitude of 100 meters that we found the No. 1 and No. 2 planes again. After we were assembled, we entered the clouds. The four planes formed a dense formation and ascended in the clouds.

There is no subject of cloud penetration in a dense formation of four aircraft in the training. During the combat take-off process, we often fly through the clouds in a dense formation of two aircraft, but we have never flown in a cloud penetration of four aircraft in a dense formation. Fortunately, the clouds were relatively stable, and the clouds didn't appear until the altitude was 11,000 meters. After the clouds appeared, it suddenly became much clearer. After landing in Yinchuan, we stopped for a day and flew to Shanxi Huairen Airport on March 19. The weather was good from Huairen to Chifeng on March 21. When our last echelon landed, the first echelon had already taken off. We took off from Chifeng Airport and after passing Siping, the earth turned from yellow to white again. The snow in the north has not yet melted away, which made us feel friendly. Everyone was very happy when we returned to our airport. The mountains are still the same mountains, and the water is still the same water. Family members rushed to the airport with their children in their arms to greet their husbands, which made those of us who were not with the army a little jealous.

On March 23, the train for ground transfer personnel also arrived. Jiaohe County organized a grand welcome ceremony for us at the train station, and we received a hero's welcome. On the way back to the camp, people in Wulin Town and Nangangzi Village braved the rain and snow to welcome us. For a moment, we really felt like heroes.

After half a year of participating in the war, we have learned a lot and matured a lot. When I was summing up my participation in the war, I also achieved third-class merit. The first wish we all have when we become fathers is to visit our family. We especially want to go back and see our children we have never met. But the leader said no. Now the combat duty tasks are heavy and the flight training tasks are lagging behind. They are all on vacation, so flight training cannot be organized. Although we are unhappy in our hearts, we still have to obey orders unconditionally.

A month later, the regiment asked Xinchun and I to go to Yanji to pick up two planes, and only after returning to Jiaohe did we go on vacation.
