The marine meteorological forecasting room consists of three groups: short-term group, medium-and long-term group and route support group. The main duty of the Polar Environment Research and Forecast Room is to be responsible for the research and forecast of the polar marine environment and participate in various polar scientific investigation tasks organized by the Bureau.

Specific responsibilities include observing and forecasting polar oceans, hydrology, meteorology and sea ice; Carry out research on polar climate and its influence on global climate change; Participate in the hydrometeorological investigation of polar regions and adjacent sea areas and the wintering support task of polar stations; Carry out research and application development of polar satellite remote sensing technology; To undertake other tasks assigned by the leaders of the center.

The research and forecast room of polar environment consists of three groups: polar sea ice group, polar meteorology group and polar ocean group. The main responsibility of the marine climate prediction room is to be responsible for the observation, prediction and research of air-sea interaction, seawater CO2 and climate change.

Specific responsibilities include air-sea interaction, observation and research of seawater CO2 and atmospheric boundary layer; Responsible for monitoring, forecasting and model development of El Ni? o; To be responsible for the prediction and research of regional and global ocean and climate change; Responsible for the impact assessment of global climate change on the ocean; Responsible for the research and application of climate model assimilation technology; To undertake other tasks assigned by the leaders of the center.

There are four groups under the Marine Climate Prediction Laboratory: Marine Carbon Research Group, El Nino Group, Air-Sea Interaction and Climate Change Prediction Group and Data Assimilation Group. The main duties of the numerical forecast research department are to introduce, develop and provide numerical forecast products for atmospheric and ocean numerical forecast models, and to carry out numerical forecast technology research.

The specific responsibilities of the numerical forecast research department include short-term meteorological numerical forecast and research work in China offshore and global oceans; Responsible for introducing advanced global and regional atmospheric and oceanic numerical models at home and abroad; Carry out model improvement, independent research and development and operational research; Carry out technical research on key atmospheric and ocean numerical models; To carry out research on marine environment and forecasting technology; To undertake other tasks assigned by the leaders of the center.

The numerical forecast (wind field) group of the original numerical department still stays in the department and enters the atmospheric model group.

There are two groups under the numerical forecast research department: atmospheric model group and ocean model group. The main responsibility of the Network and Computer Department is to provide high-performance computer and network support and maintenance services for forecasting business and scientific research.
