Why do you eat steamed bread on June 19th of the lunar calendar?

On June 19th of the lunar calendar, Yixing people's folklore said that this day was the enlightenment day of Guanyin Bodhisattva. According to Yixing folklore, Goddess Guanyin not only dominates human fertility, but also strengthens the body and suppresses evil, benefiting all beings, and is deeply loved and respected by people. Therefore, every year on the 19th day of June in the lunar calendar, despite the hot weather, every household in Yixing uses flour to make steamed buns. The head of household leads the whole family, lights incense sticks, devotes himself to the goddess Guanyin and presents special big steamed buns, praying that Guanyin will bless the prosperity of people and future generations. This white, soft and delicious steamed bread has also become a ritual food for people in hot summer.
