Yuyao is a county-level city managed by Ningbo, located in Ningshao Plain in the east of Zhejiang Province. It borders Jiangbei District and Haishu District in the east, Siming Mountain in the south, Fenghua District and Shengzhou City in the west, Shangyu District in the west, Cixi City in the north and Haiyan County in the northwest. Total area 1500.8 km2.

Longquan Mountain is in the west corner of the city, near Yaojiang River. Yuyao was a shallow sea in ancient times and the mountains were shallow islands. Together, the two temples were called the Two Kings Temple. Longquan Shijing is located in the northeast of Zhongtian Pavilion, between Maolin and Xiuzhu. The ancient well does not dry up all the year round, because it is called Longquan well.
