Where does Jiayin Guanyin Mountain belong?

Guanyin Mountain is located in the southeast of Jiayin County, with a waterway of 50 kilometers. This mountain starts from the edge of He Shili Valley in the south. Several peaks in Linjiang are towering into the sky, with rocky cliffs and towering old trees. The main peak is 3 19.6 meters high. There is a pyramid-shaped mountain at the eastern end, and the sister peak looks like a chair, like a Guanyin bodhisattva. Heilongjiang comes from the west to the foot of the mountain in the southeast. In the past, fishermen used to tie red cloth on the mast to pray for peace, and some people gave up their boats and went ashore to worship Guanyin.

From the foot of Dongshan Mountain, walk up the stairs along the winding path of ancient stone willow, and then walk 200 meters to Kannonji. The original temple is divided into the main hall and the partial hall, both of which are blue bricks, cornices and arches, and the river is close to the mountain, reflecting between pine trees and oak willows. There is a huge stone statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva in the main hall, an abbot monk in the side hall, and a bronze bell hanging from a big tree outside the hall. According to legend, the temple was built by Buddhists in Guanyinshan Gold Mine in 1874. In the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, there were thousands of Christians. Every day, the incense continues, and the morning bell rings at dusk. 1900 "boxer rebellion", all buildings were destroyed. At present, only the remains of broken walls and bricks are left, and the decorative patterns of door eyebrows and tiger heads are still clearly discernible. There is still an ancient battlefield trench on the northern slope of Shandong Province, which is engraved with a fierce battle between the Qing army and the invading Russian army during Eight-Nation Alliance's looting.

There are many beautiful legends in Guanyin Mountain: First, when the Tsar wiped out 64 villages east of the Yangtze River, the Qing government sent General Bai, the prefect, to lead a hundred warships to levy "Luocha". When the ship came here, the horses had no food and grass, and the soldiers stopped cooking. At this time, the Guanyin Bodhisattva in the South China Sea was merciful to this big fish with fine scales, so people got food, so they named this fish "Maha". Secondly, during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, gold was "shot in the head" in a ditch in Taipinggou Gold Mine, which was presented to Empress Dowager Cixi by Beiyang Minister Li Hongzhang. Empress Dowager Cixi later named this ditch "rouge ditch", and sent an imperial envoy to build the Kannonji, ordering believers to watch it and make it burn incense every day. Thirdly, during the Daoguang period, the Taipinggou gold mine on the left bank of Jiayin River was very rich in gold mining, and the more workers there were, the more families flowed in. This religion worships "Guanyin Bodhisattva in Sheng Da, Nanhai" and believes in Buddhism. So they chose Zhong Ling, a beautiful mountain range, to build Kannonji and sent an abbot. Later, this mountain was named "Guanyin Mountain".

In addition, there is a cave on the north slope of Linjiang, which is unfathomable. According to the legend, silver foxes often appear, and fox spirits appear to save people from danger, so they are called "Huxian Cave". In recent years, the top has collapsed and blocked, and the hole is only tens of meters deep, which only provides shelter for fishermen. For nearly a hundred years, Guanyin Mountain has always been known as "beautiful mountain, beautiful water and immortal spirit". Jiayin county was originally named Foshan, from which the mountain name came.
