Where is Kunyu Mountain?

Kunyu Mountain, located in the east of Jiaodong Peninsula, belongs to Yantai Kunyu Mountain National Nature Reserve, which spans the junction of Mu Ping, Wendeng and Rushan. It is 35 kilometers long from north to south and 50 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of 1.750 kilometers. The main peak is Mount Taibo, which is 923 meters above sea level. It is the highest peak in the eastern part of Jiaodong Peninsula and is known as the "ancestor of Fairy Mountain".

Kunyu Mountain is famous for its natural scenery, scenic spots and historical sites and Jiaodong revolutionary resort. There are many places of interest in Kunyu Mountain. As far back as the Han and Tang Dynasties, there were three palaces on the mountain, namely, Zen Temple, Wuran Temple, Liudu Temple, Yuegu Temple and Ganquan Temple. During the Jin and Yuan Dynasties, the Taoist Quanzhen School in its heyday was born here. The large-scale cliff stone carving of Tao Te Ching by the old gentleman on the Bible Mountain is rare in China. The Han stele and Tang stele in Wu Ran Temple, and the Five Dynasties Wuhua stele in Donghua Palace are all treasures.
