What is radar?
Radar uses the principle of electromagnetic wave to detect the position, speed, direction and other information of surrounding targets by transmitting electromagnetic wave signals and receiving reflected signals. Radar can work in various weather conditions, including sunny days, rainy days, snowy days and foggy days, and can detect man-made objects and natural objects, such as airplanes, ships, cars, peaks and clouds.
Radar is mainly composed of transmitter, receiver, antenna and signal processor. The radar transmitter will send out a pulse electromagnetic wave signal, which will be reflected to the surrounding objects. The reflected signal will be received by the radar receiver and sent to the signal processor. By processing the time, frequency, amplitude and other information of the reflected signal, the parameters such as distance, speed and direction of the surrounding targets can be obtained.
The function of radar
1. Detecting the target: the radar can emit electromagnetic waves and then receive the signal reflected by the target. By analyzing these signals, we can determine the position, distance, speed and other information of the target.
2. Surveillance of airspace: Radar can monitor airspace and find potential threats in time, such as early warning aircraft, missiles and ships.
3. Navigation and positioning: Radar can be used for navigation and positioning. For example, the pilot can obtain information such as the position, altitude and speed of the aircraft through the radar, so as to control the flight.
4. Weather forecast: Radar can detect weather phenomena such as clouds and rainfall, thus providing data for weather forecast.
5. Ocean detection: Radar can be used for ocean detection, monitoring information such as ocean surface temperature, salinity and waves, so as to predict sea conditions and waves.
