How to read the fog and know the weather

To understand the weather by looking at fog, you need to analyze it from the aspects of time, concentration, season and the weather of the previous few days. As the saying goes: "It will be sunny and foggy for a long time, and it will be clear for a long time after rain and fog." That is to say, if the weather has been sunny and heavy fog appears in the past few days, it indicates that it will be cloudy or rainy. This kind of fog is caused by the invasion of warm and moist air from the ground. This kind of fog is called advection fog. And if it was rainy and heavy fog appeared in the previous few days, it indicates that the weather is about to become sunny. This kind of fog is caused by clouds breaking up in the sky at night, which causes the ground to cool down strongly. It is called radiation fog.

In addition, we must learn to distinguish between advection fog and radiation fog. Advection fog is a relatively dense form caused by the cooling of a large area of ??warm, moist air. Because it is in the sky, it is often accompanied by clouds, opaque and appears gray. Radiation fog is formed by the condensation of water vapor in the surface air, so it is relatively light and looks like a layer of milky white gauze. Therefore, there is a saying that "if the fog is small, the sky will be fine; if the fog is thick, there will be strong winds; if the fog is heavy, it will rain heavily; if the fog turns, it will be sunny the next day."

To see the fog accurately, you must also look at the duration of the fog. Because radiation fog is formed due to cold weather, if the fog disappears as soon as the temperature rises during the day and lasts for a short time, the weather will be fine; conversely, if the fog does not dissipate during the day and lasts for a long time, rainy weather may occur. Therefore, there is a proverb among the people: "The fog does not last until noon, but after noon, you can hear the sound of rain." In addition, fog in autumn and winter can often predict good weather tomorrow, while fog in spring and summer is different. It indicates rainy weather.

Fog is closely related to weather changes, and weather changes are inseparable from human life. Therefore, we must learn to look at the fog to understand the weather. At the same time, we must not blindly make judgments. We must make comprehensive judgments such as observation and analysis to master more knowledge.
