Shantou, referred to as "Shantou" for short, is a prefecture-level city and special economic zone in Guangdong Province. Located in Chaoshan area of eastern Guangdong, at the southern tip of Hanjiang Delta, it is connected to Chaozhou in the north, Jieyang in the west and Nanhai in the south, facing Taiwan Province Province across the sea, with Hanjiang, Rongjiang and Lianjiang entering the sea. Shantou's water resources are mainly composed of atmospheric precipitation, river runoff and groundwater. The main rivers in China are Hanjiang, Rongjiang, Lianjiang, Haojiang and Lei Ling.

Lianjiang, with a drainage area of 1353 square kilometers and a length of 72 kilometers. Originated in Puning City, it flows through Chaoyang City and goes out to sea via Haimen Bay Bridge. Chaoyang covers an area of 838.5 square kilometers. The average annual runoff of Lianjiang for many years is 65.438+0.4 billion cubic meters. There are 7 medium-sized reservoirs, 654.38+08 small reservoirs and a batch of small ponds in Chaoyang City, with a total storage capacity of 256 million cubic meters. It has played an important role in flood control, drainage, irrigation, water supply and power generation.
