Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology has two campuses.

The main campus of the school is located in Jiangbei New District, Nanjing, covering an area of more than 2,000 mu. Wuxi Campus is located in Dong Xi New Town, Wuxi City, with Binjiang College (now transformed into Wuxi College), Wuxi Graduate School of Nanxin University, Wuxi Research Institute and National Education College of Wuxi Campus.

Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology is a national "double-first-class" university, and also a key supporting university for the construction of high-level universities in Jiangsu Province. Since 2007, the school has been approved by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, China Meteorological Bureau, Ministry of Education and State Oceanic Administration. Now it is a central and local university mainly managed by Jiangsu Province.
