Fei Xiaotong (November 2, 1910 - April 24, 2005), Han nationality, was born in Wujiang, Jiangsu Province. He engaged in sociology and anthropology research throughout his life, made world-renowned academic achievements, and wrote millions of words of works. Fei Xiaotong completed his doctoral thesis entitled "River Village Economy" under the guidance of his mentor Malinowski. The book became a must-read reference book for anthropology students in some European colleges. For this reason, Fei Xiaotong was awarded the 1981 The Huxley Medal, the highest award in anthropology awarded by the Royal Anthropological Society of the United Kingdom. He is known as "one of the founders of Chinese sociology and anthropology." He is the vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Seventh and Eighth National People's Congress, vice chairman of the Sixth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and honorary chairman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League.
