Because realgar is poisonous, it is rarely drunk in liquor now, and it is more common to replace realgar with yellow wine now. "Five whites" means boiled meat, white garlic, boiled chicken, white tofu and water bamboo. Eating "Huang Wu" and "Five White" dishes on the Dragon Boat Festival can clear away heat and reduce fire, strengthen the spleen and regulate the stomach.

In May of the lunar calendar, Hangzhou people call it May Yellow Moon, which is named because there are five kinds of food with "yellow" sounds on the market. On the Dragon Boat Festival, people in Hangzhou must eat "Huang Wu".
