The white waterfall water matches perfectly with the surrounding green plants. This waterfall is also known as "Forest Falls" or "Wood Falls".

Skógafoss was once the coastline of Iceland. It is located on a cliff next to the coastline of the Skógá River, but since the coastline here has receded 5 kilometers, the highland where the cliff is located has become the dividing line between the low-lying coastal areas of Iceland and the mainland highlands.

There is a trail on the right side of the waterfall. Climbing to the top, visitors can look back at the entire coastline and witness the spectacular sight of the river flowing down in an instant. At the foot of the mountain is the famous local folk museum, which truly reflects the farm life of Icelanders for hundreds of years. It is said that there is pirate treasure buried under the waterfall, and the handle of the box is also displayed in the B&B Museum, which is so magical that it makes the waterfall famous far and wide.

Double rainbows sometimes appear on sunny days due to the large amount of water mist that is constantly being produced. Parts of "Thor: The Dark Place" were filmed at Skogafoss.
