At present, there is no complete expressway from Lanzhou to Xi 'an. As you said, there are two main driving routes:

1. National Highway 3 10, from Lanzhou to Dingxi, Gansu, takes about one and a half hours. From Dingxi to Tianshui, it is a high-grade automobile highway in Niu Bei and a "famous" Tianchan high-grade automobile highway, which takes about three hours by car. It is a unique grade, marked as a second-class highway but higher than the second-class highway, with two lanes closed in both directions. Tianchan Highway passes through mountainous areas with high altitude and dangerous terrain. Due to the original design problems, the geological structure along the line is unstable, with occasional landslides and foundation collapse, and there is more precipitation in southeast Gansu. Once there is snowfall, serious snow will appear in several sections of Tianchan Highway at higher altitude. However, if the rainfall is too large, natural disasters will occur in the mountainous section of Tianchan Highway, so the traffic rate of Tianchan Highway is not very stable. There is Tianbei Expressway in Tianshui section, and the road conditions from 3 10 National Road to Baoji section are complicated, especially Luohanpo section, which is also seriously affected by the weather. After that, the road conditions of Xibao Expressway are better, so don't worry. Then if you take this route, the itinerary should be: Xi 'an-Baoji (Xibao Expressway, about 170km)- Tianshui (National Highway 3 10, about 200km)- Dingxi (Tianchan Highway and Niu Bei Highway, about 230km)- Lanlan (Landing Expressway, about 65440 km). If the road conditions are good, it should be about 10 hour. The advantage is that the traffic volume is not very large.

2. National Highway 3 12. The first section of this line is the national highway, which enters the landing expressway in Dingxi. Liupan Mountain, which passed by on the way, should be a tunnel now. Yin Fu Expressway is being built in Jingning section, which requires several kilometers of service road. Moreover, the traffic volume of national highway 3 12 is much more than that of 3 10, and there are many large trucks, so the road conditions are very bad. The specific driving route is: Xi 'an-Pingliang (G 3 12320km)- Jingning County (attention! After Jingning, the national road forks, please drive in the direction of Huining! ! ! )-Huining county (national highway 3 12)- Dingxi (about 230 kilometers)-Lanzhou (landing expressway, about 120 kilometers).

If circumstances permit, it is best to travel by train as much as possible; If the train carries too much information, you need to drive by yourself. Take National Highway 3 10 to avoid speeding (almost all traffic accidents on Tianchan Expressway are related to speeding). National Highway 3 12 not only has a large traffic volume, but also has many toll stations, and the road surface is not as good as National Highway 3 10.
