In cities, the larvae of the white spot moth and the star spot moth mainly breed in shallow water containing corrupt organic matter, and moths can be cultivated in large quantities in septic tanks, sewage tanks, toilets, bathroom washbasins, floor water, kitchen sinks, wet rags and other places. Moth larvae can also be found in outdoor clogged sewers, septic tanks and some water containers with high organic content. After eclosion, most adults stop on the nearby wall.

The most fundamental way to control moths is to control the environment: moths mainly breed in all kinds of stagnant water. As long as the water in the container is emptied, the water in the floor or sink is cleared, and the outdoor ditch is kept open, the number of moths can be controlled. Insect growth regulators can be added to the larvae cultured in septic tanks, which can control moths and white-bellied mosquitoes at the same time.

Removal of adults:

1. If you have pesticides at home, you can spray them on the soil once, and then pour some water to kill the flying flies and the maggots that haven't molted in the soil. The chemical agent can be pyrethroid spray for general household use.

2. soaking a few cigarette butts in water can also have a certain effect.

3. Crush garlic cloves and put them on the pot soil to repel insects.

4. Bury the leftover electric mosquito-repellent incense in a flowerpot, or bury some garlic, pepper and ginger.

5. When there are small flying insects in the flowerpot, you can fully dip dichlorvos with three or four cotton sticks (cotton sticks) to prevent them from dripping down, and then insert the handle end into the pot soil around the plant to eliminate the flying insects.

6. The flying ability of moths is very poor, which can be effectively removed by using electric mosquito swatter.
