Jiaxing, also known as "he cheng", is a prefecture-level city in Zhejiang Province, located in the northeast of Zhejiang Province and the hinterland of Hangjiahu Plain in the Yangtze River Delta. It is an important city in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, an important city in the Shanghai metropolitan area, a core city around Hangzhou Bay and a sub-central city in the Hangzhou metropolitan area. Jiaxing is located at the intersection of rivers, lakes and seas, bordering the throat of Hunan Corridor, and less than100km away from Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Ningbo and other cities. Jiaxing, as the hub of Shanghai-Hangzhou and Suzhou-Hangzhou traffic trunk lines, enjoys convenient transportation.

The land area is 4275.05 square kilometers (including the water area of Qiantang River, and the dividing line between Qiantang River and the sea is Haiyan Ganpu-Yuyao West Sanmen).
