Development trend of BOSS system
According to the development trend of China telecom operation industry, the market scale of China telecom operation support system will continue to expand and maintain a high growth rate in the next three years. The development direction of the system is mainly to build a new generation of network BOSS system and wireless BOSS system.
Telecom value-added service
Additional communication services developed by using the resources of public telecommunication network and other communication equipment increase the economic benefits or functional value of the original network, which is called telecom value-added services. Sometimes called enhanced services.
Value-added services can be roughly divided into two categories: first, services in the form of value-added networks (VAN). Value-added network can make use of special equipment such as switches and computers in this department to form a private network with transmission equipment rented from public network to meet the needs of this department. For example, renting a fax store-and-forward network composed of high-speed information, a conference television network, a private packet switching network, a virtual private network (VPN), etc. The second is the business in the form of value-added services. Refers to the services developed beyond the basic services (telephone and telegraph services) of the original communication network, such as data retrieval, data processing, electronic data exchange, e-mail, electronic directory search and electronic file transmission.
The main value-added services opened by China Telecom online are:
E-mail, also called e-mail. The latest generation of e-mail box is message processing system (MHS), which can realize the interoperability between heterogeneous computers. E-mail provides users with a way to obtain and transmit messages, data, charts or other forms of written information, usually through packet-switched data networks, or through telephone networks or telex networks.
(2) Video images. As an additional value-added service for telephone users, it can retrieve all kinds of text, image (color) information according to needs through the interconnection between the public telephone network and the database on the packet-switched network, and can also be used as the terminal equipment of e-mail.
(3) Electronic data exchange. It is also called "paperless trade" because it uses computers to trade or exchange information according to prescribed formats and protocols. It is the most modern means of trade in developed countries and has been adopted by many countries. The "Golden Gate" in the "Golden Word" project promoted by China is the development and application of EDI in China.
(4) fax storage and forwarding. It is a device that stores and forwards users' fax signals or has the function of fax retrieval information through a computer, and provides users with high-performance fax services. Usually, private line or public packet network is used to provide busy retransmission, multiple access or broadcast transmission, timed transmission, voice prompt inquiry and fax/telex conversion for users on the telephone network. Fax Store-and-Forward is a kind of non-real-time communication, and its circuit utilization rate can be increased by more than five times, so it is a promising service.
5] Online database retrieval. A data terminal or PC is connected with various information databases through a telecommunication network. With the support of retrieval software, users can obtain the required information and data conveniently and quickly. In addition to searching the database directly, users can easily find the required database through the intermediate computer system. Its application range is very wide, such as scientific and technological information retrieval, news, finance, stocks, futures, flights, trains and other public services, and it is also used in various professional databases such as books, chemicals, light industry and petroleum.
[6] The Internet, also known as the Internet. It is the largest computer internet in the world, and it is also a value-added service developed by using existing communication networks and computer resources. In recent years, the network has developed from a scientific research and education network to a commercial network. At present, it has connected more than 65,438+050 countries and regions, more than 40,000 computer networks, nearly 4 million computers and more than 35 million users. In order to meet the needs of domestic users, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications takes Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou as the national import and export bureaus and connects with the American Internet. Users can access China Internet Chinanet through telephone network, public packet switched network, e-mail system or special line to communicate with users at home and abroad. On this network, users can be provided with e-mail, file transfer, database retrieval, remote information processing, data query, multimedia communication, electronic conference, image transmission and other services. (7) Voice information service. Provide users with voice information services by voice platform, such as 160 artificial auxiliary information station, 168 automatic voice message service and 166 voice mail, covering news, sports, science and technology, finance, securities, real estate, medical care, entertainment, transportation, shopping guide, tourism, talent exchange, hot spot tracking, etc.
Other services, such as "200" calling card service, "800" collect service, virtual private network (VPN) service, centralized PBX service, etc. They are all value-added services. Some new value-added services, such as frame relay service, video conference and video on demand, are also booming.
Wireless value-added service
Wireless value-added services are built on the basis of mobile communication networks. Besides voice, these data services include SMS, MMS, CRBT, Ⅳ R, WAP, KJAVA/BREW, PDA, etc. By the end of 2004, there were 804 trans-regional value-added telecommunications enterprises and 524 enterprises engaged in information services, accounting for 65% of the total. Mainly mobile value-added SMS, MMS, etc. In terms of business income, the unit is 100 million yuan, and the largest inter-provincial business is SMS, followed by voice, WAP and MMS.
The short message service has maintained rapid growth, reflecting the characteristics of China. First, it saves money, and second, it is much more convenient and can be non-real-time. The business continued to grow at a high speed. As of June 5,438+10, the total volume has exceeded the business volume of last year. The short message service earned nearly 6 billion yuan last year, accounting for 765,438+0% of mobile value-added. In addition, SMS seems to be saturated now, and the competition is fierce. Market development is characterized by slow growth and high market concentration. The second feature is that the competition is fierce and the market has entered an adjustment period. For value-added service operators, strategic adjustment should be made. The third problem is that the content is not rich enough, and the short message industry in the market segment should become a new growth point.
The second mobile value-added service is WAP service. The success of Monternet has injected new vitality into the development of WAP, which has aroused the attention of many SP again. By the end of 2004, the number of WAP users of China Mobile reached 265,438+266,000, and that of China Unicom reached 8.52 million. It is estimated that 3G, this business will develop better and faster. The characteristic and problem of market development is that WAP business has strong one-way transmission ability, which is more suitable for users to browse on a large scale in one direction. Cell phone ringtones and pictures account for 55% of WAP traffic. Followed by chat, games, email albums, news weather, securities finance. WAP business has not yet formed a relatively stable competitive situation.
The third better mobile value-added service is Ⅳ R, which earned 990 million yuan in 2004, second only to SMS, and this service has also become the object sought after by mobile operators. Characteristics and problems of market development, from the market point of view, high tariffs are the main reason to limit development. In addition, the type of Ⅳ R service is too single and the operation is too complicated.
The fourth mobile value-added service is MMS, which develops rapidly and is in a high growth, but its market share is not large. The development prospect of this service in 2006 should be better, the market share of MMS is still at a low stage, and users have not formed the habit of consumption.
The fifth mobile value-added service is color ring back tone. In 2004, China Mobile also began to launch personalized ring-back tone service in China, and the income of ring-back tone service in 2004 was 40.57 million yuan. Personalized ringback tone users are obviously younger.
Other applications include JAVA and BREW, and the main advantage lies in local computing power. By the end of 2004, the domestic mobile game market will exceed 600 million yuan, and the LBS market will grow day by day.
