In my imagination, the Giethoorn village in the Netherlands should be filled with luxuriant flowers, fresh and delicate. Some branches can no longer withstand the complexity of the flowers and bend their arms to scatter the flowers. Suspended above the water. But in fact, Giethoorn in the Netherlands in March was completely different from what I imagined. It actually had a bleak and cold beauty.

The world is wide and the road is long, but never lose the original intention when you set out.

"Next time, let's go in another direction. Latin America looks great." I suggested in the car after leaving Zaanse Schans.

"What's wrong? Is there something wrong?" No wonder Mr. Zeng asked this. We have been coming to Europe for several years. Every time we leave Europe, we immediately look forward to our next trip there.

I looked at the scenery passing by outside the car window, which was very desolate. If you look around, you can see no trace of life at all. The hazy mist floats low on the ground, covering not only the desolate and yellow grassland, but also the sparsely built houses exuding the vicissitudes of loneliness. Is it because of this?

Along the way, we rarely talked, and the heating in the car was turned on just right, maybe It was a world of difference from the temperature outside, which made people drowsy (and I really dared to let him sleep!) After an unknown number of light years, Mr. Zeng gently touched him with his elbow. Touched my arm.

When I opened my eyes, I felt it was so bright that I couldn't see anything for a while. After a few seconds, my eyes slowly adapted to the light, and I suddenly realized that the scenery outside the car had changed: the sun was shining brightly, and the sky was clear and pleasant. We passed through the thick fog just now and saw the beauty of the sunshine. There are many wind turbines lined up on the grass beside the road, which is very spectacular. The background of the turbines is only the blue sky; there are neither rolling mountains nor towering trees, nothing can take away their brilliance.

Giethoorn in the Netherlands is a "car-free zone". We followed the instructions of the visitor center staff and parked the car in the public parking lot outside Giethoorn. The parking lot was quite empty, with few cars. I felt a little strange: Could this be an ominous sign? Following the roadside signs towards Giethoorn, I still didn’t see a few flowers or grasses along the way.

Hey! Isn't spring coming soon? What about the promised spring flowers blooming? On the small canal leading to Giethoorn, ships were moored, and the ominous feeling suddenly escalated several times. In my impression, Giethoorn in the Netherlands should be full of trees with lush, fresh and delicate flowers. Some branches can no longer withstand the complexity of the flowers and bend their arms to hang the flowers above the water, while the boat slowly Driving on the intertwined canals, people on the boat had to gently pick up the dense branches when passing by, and only gently put them down again until the boat passed by. Ah, what a beautiful place!

But imagination is imagination, and sometimes we make our imagination too beautiful. "Huh? I finally saw a few flowers." Mr. Zeng pointed to the grass on the roadside. There were a few small white flowers blooming on it. You couldn't see them unless you looked carefully. "Thank God, spring is finally here." I also responded with a few words, teasing our trip to Europe that seemed like spring but not spring.

In fact, Giethoorn in the Netherlands was still deserted in March: not only were there no flowers, but there were no tourists either. There was no sign of any boats on the small canal. I can't even say that Giethoorn like this is "green", but such an empty village has a bleak and cold beauty.

Walking on the path in Giethoorn, the Netherlands, I no longer care so much about the flowers that should be there but are not there, and I am no longer so obsessed with the monotony of colors: the gray and earthy colors unexpectedly match the surroundings. The house blends together so harmoniously.

Occasionally, I would encounter oncoming cyclists on the trail. I would stand on the grass beside the trail and exchange smiles with them. That was the most brilliant scene in Giethoorn that day. The grass was not boring either. Mallard ducks would come up from the water in twos and threes and watch them shake their heads as they walked. Mr. Zeng teased them but scared them away!

On the bank of the small canal in Giethoorn, the Netherlands, there are benches every short distance. I remember that we were sitting on a certain bench, looking up at the bare branches and the dark of dark clouds. "Do you think it will rain?" he asked.

I pressed his hands on the bench and kept saying, "Touch wood! We didn't even take an umbrella, it's definitely not going to rain!" After about a minute, he started to feel numb. I felt a trace of rain on the tip of my nose. I looked at him coldly and watched him rummaging around in his backpack and found an umbrella. Wow, when did Mr. Zeng master magic?

"Am I great?" As we walked quickly to take shelter from the rain, he still had the leisure to inflate himself. It was only after I married him for a year that I realized that many things were not about him being great, but about his carefulness. No wonder my backpack was light, but his backpack turned out to be heavy.

We walked into a cafe. It was probably the only cafe open in Giethoorn that day, right? Ordered a beer and a hot chocolate. Although it is raining outside, we are still grateful for the tranquility that Giethoorn has at this moment. Hot chocolate in cold weather is a gift from God.

The rain stopped, the wind stopped, I finished drinking the chocolate, I paid the bill, opened the door, let's go. Now, walk forward without opening your mouth, walk in the direction of the car, look to the left, go to What should I do if I look to the right and can’t see the car?

Walk around, stop and ask, it turns out we are really stupid, we still dare to ask after missing the intersection! In this way, our tortuous story of finding a car took us a full half hour. (Shameful)
