What should I pay attention to when raising sheep in winter?

First, build a sheepfold.

It is cold in winter, and the original sheepfold is no longer suitable. We should choose a ventilated and warm sheepfold in the leeward and sunny place. The inside of the sheepfold should be kept clean and dry, and grass curtains should be hung at the exit and vent of the sheepfold in the morning and evening.

Second, timely grazing.

Sheep herding in winter should be carried out around noon on sunny days. Grazing for about 4 hours every day, we should adhere to the principle of "going against the wind and returning with the wind" when grazing, so that the sheep can gradually adapt to the cold. In extremely cold weather, we should also stick to grazing in the pasture near the sheepfold, so as to maintain the activity and eat some grass properly. When grazing, you must not let the sheep eat the following two kinds of grass: first, the grass with mud; The second is the grass with frost; The third is the grass in the rain. We should choose a pasture with good pasture and warm shelter from the wind as winter pasture, so that sheep can walk less and eat more grass.

Third, feed in time.

In the third trimester of pregnancy or in rainy and snowy weather, ewes should be supplemented with Leymus chinensis and concentrate, such as wheat and corn. Adult sheep are fed about 1.5 Jin of grass every day until the lambs are full.

Fourth, pay attention to drinking water

In winter, when the feed is dry and the water consumption of sheep increases, it is necessary to insist on drinking water every day (drinking water every other day will cause herding phenomenon), and drinking water at 2 pm is appropriate. It is necessary to prevent drinking empty stomach water and lying water (that is, drinking water after grazing), not drinking ice slag water, but drinking warm water, with the water temperature around 25℃.

Five, proper salt feeding

Feed salt once every 10 day, and feed each sheep10g each time. Drink water first, then feed salt. If you feed salt first and then drink water, it is easy to cause "water-borne fetus" abortion.

Six, comb the fur

In winter, because the sheep are kept in the sheepfold for a long time, the fur is easy to harden and should be combed frequently.

Seven, pay attention to disease prevention and control.

When leaving and returning to grazing, the sheep should be carefully examined, and the sick sheep should be treated in time to prevent the spread of the disease. For sheep with weak constitution, concentrate should be supplemented as soon as possible.
